Good time but be prepared

This was a good time but be prepared -- the rods and reels that you rent (separate fee) are of poor quality and not typical of a deep sea fishing trip in FL. Caught some nice bass and yellow-tail

I booked for a 3/4 day trip, 1/2 hour before departure an E-mail was send, the boat was full. Given a choise to go on a 1/2 day boat was taken, Boat left 15 minutes late and returned 1/2 an hour early. boat stayed at a place no action too long. Hardly any fish of legal size. It was a lousy bad exsperience I am never go on another 1/2 day boat out of Dana Point again.

good experience

The twilight fishing trip was overall a good experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. However for family with small children the boat is smaller than expected. I am willing to pay more per person if we can go on bigger boat with some cabin seating. More description and pictures of the boat provided on the website would be helpful.

Ok...overfished

Good experience and the staff was very professional...but the areas we went to were very overfished, and though we caught some fish, we actually faired better simply fishing from the pier

Full boat, good half day trip

Pluses: Efficient crew, plenty of fish. adequate space, fair pricing. The rental gear was fine and there was plenty of parking. Minuses: Guys who got on the boat first dominated the stern and there was no rotation to move anglers around the boat. Two teenagers who dominated the stern also appeared to be employees of some sort. They had access to the captain's space and helped clean the boat on the way in. If they were employees, they should not have competed with the paying customers for fishing space.

Took my daughter on a half and as always ,,, had a gear time! Captain and his staff are always there to help when you need it! My goal is to teach my daughter so that when she is ready we can go out on a tuna trip. Dana Wharfs makes it easy!

Nice 1/2 day on the boat
Wed, Jul 30  12:00 PM joeligori Male 60-69 Local Individual
Had a nice 1/2 day on the boat out of Dana Point. It was a little crowded, no place to sit and no shade, but somewhat expected. Crew was helpful and it was fun watching other people fish as well. I only caught 4 small fish. Most were small and many thrown back. Only 2 or 3 good catches for the day.
