Great guys on the boat

My son and his friend went out fishing and enjoyed themselves. Caught alot of fish early, then nothing the last couple hours, but that's fishing (otherwise they'd call it catching!) I've been out many times with these folks and they're always friendly and helpful. A fun time!

Fun Trip That Almost Was Cancelled

We arrived at the fishing boat only to be told that the trip would be cancelled because they didn't have enough people going. We had traveled 45 minutes to get there and were very disappointed. Finally, one other person showed up and the crew said that we were still one person short. My dad then offered to buy one more ticket for $35 so the entire group of 7 people could go - they said they needed 8 to go out. We did end up going but only because my dad bought that extra ticket. That was kind of lame. Everything else was great. The crew was good and helpful.

I was super excited It was my first time fishing in the ocean and it was pretty cold, I would suggest waiting until it's a little warmer outside before heading out, but other than that it was a lot of fun! We caught about 7 fish, two of which we were able to take home and I left with a nice sun burn, don't forget to wear sunscreen!!

Slow Day for Fishing

Unfortunately, the fish weren't biting this day. I would take this trip again, but not on a Tuesday. There were 100 anglers, most inexperienced, that caused tangled lines. The full boat was way too crowded.

Everything was great. Dana point is very beautiful area to fish. Also, the deck workers were awesome. Not once did I have to pull a hook from a fishes mouth, and they were very helpful with line tangles. And being a beginner, there were alot of tangles. Thanks for making this day special and my dad I will be returning soon.

Interesting Experience

All in all, an interesting experience. For me, it was my first time fishing, so it was exciting to learn how to fish and to catch my first fish. Fishing was in general a bit slow, but that was probably due to factors beyond the crew's control, such as the season, the reality of over-fishing, and the necessary relative proximity to shore. The crew was generally quite helpful, assisting customers in taking in and preparing their caught fish and informing customers about the various fish they caught. It was also good to know that they used radar to detect schools of fish so as to enhance the chances that we could catch some. One note: if you happen to catch any mackerel, which is fairly likely since they are quite a common fish, they will most likely tel you that it is a no-good fish. However, there are plenty of recipes online of how best to cook mackerel and I must say, it is actually a very tasty fish, and fairly healthy as well! High in Protein and Omega 3 fatty acids. So keep any mackerel you may catch!
