1/2 Day Fishing Trip

Went with my brother and (adult) nephews on a 1/2 day boat. Crew was great, fishing was good, and the price was right. Good time and good price; I'll do it again.

Disappointing

We took this trip on a Wednesday, so there were not as many people on the boat as usual (I'm told.) The crew was friendly, but could have been more helpful, especially with my 80 year old father-in-law. While I can't blame the captain or the crew for the lack of (everyone's) success, it would have been helpful to set the expectation when we inquired about the trip before the purchase. (Crew said it has been slow all season and the fish have been too small to keep.) All this said, the crew did make us feel welcome.

We went out on the 6:30 am trip. To our surprise, this trip had 5 professional deep sea fishing instructors from "Owner" hooks. They gave two fishing classes on board as we got underway. When we were on the fishing beds, these Guys gave awesome advise, tips, and tricks everything, bait size, baiting techniques, casting, even reeling in the "big one"!!!

Truly Not What I Thought It Would Be

I will start by saying parking was a nightmare. They provide a permit but its only value is IF you can find parking. If you are going to advertise a parking permit, the assumption is that you are reserving a spot for the customer. NOT the case. The people in charge were rude, the young men on the boat were arrogant. The boat was essentially a small shrimp boat and it was packed to the hilt with people. I knew there would be other people, but this was ridiculous. The only guarantee this company can offer is obnoxious employees at the front desk AND on the boat, a crammed experience, and coronary-inducing parking. Sorry guys, but the whole experience was a complete ****-fest.

These guys did an excellent job helping my 8 year old daughter and me. Both of us were first timers. They let us know how to fish each spot and helped us get the bait on and checked on us and gave us useful tips! Couldn't be more pleased!!!

Fished with my 13-year old son, Captain explained where we were going, why we were going there, and how much time it would take to get there - all were helpful. Got on to some Calico bass with some larger (presumably Yellowtail) bites but no Yellowtail landed. Good times.

My grandson was on his first ocean fishing trip. We got on boat and all the established fishing people headed for the back of the boat to Anchor there positions on the rail. Every spot on the rail has a number and at some point the captain is supposed to ask everyone to rotate to there same number either to the right or Left, so that everyone gets a position at the back of the boat, which is where the best fishing is, at least while anchored. Well My Grandson who is 11 years old was never asked if he wanted or needed any help, there were other Women on the boat and they ended up on the front of the boat the whole trip. The crew was good, food great, but only one deck hand for over 30 people with a lot of beginners. Won't go on that Boat again!
