A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AND VERY REASONABLE COST

My wife and I were visiting as tourists from Arizona in Laguna Beach. We had driven down the coast to Dana Point Harbor where we became aware of the Tuesday Special whale watching cruise. The cost was more than reasonable at 1/2 the regular price and we signed on. The Dana Pride is a very well appointed and well maintained boat and the crew was very experienced- - -not only in maning and operating the boat, but expert in dealing with people who were their guests on the cruise. A remarkable point in that was their helpful and compassionate assistance with 5 people in wheel chairs who went on the cruise. Throughout the 2 hour cruise our very able Captain educated us with the ecology of the sea, migration habits of the whales and soon found two grey whales migrating north. The Captain pointed out that sea mammals, including the Gray whales we saw are protected by law. A number of speedboats and personal watercraft were there and operating their crafts far too close to the whales. Our Captain used the boat's loudhailer to warn the craft and tell them they were breaking federal law. We were brought to see many dolphins and California seals as well as the whales. This was a very memorable experience and we would highly recommend the experience to anyone visiting the Dana Point area. Dana Point is about 12 miles south of Laguna Beach California. THAD & Bette

Knowledgeable crew, clean and well-equipped boat, thoughtful navigation. Besides seeing whales and other marine animals, it's worth it for the boat ride!

Bargain price Easy location to find. Efficient checkin and boarding Friendly staff Clean, safe looking boat. Comfortable accomodations Successful sighting of sea lions, dolphins, gray whales Just the right duration in time --- not under your control --- Beautiful day In time to "do lunch" at the harbor with a good glass of chablis. ---minor recommendation --- Maybe a little more low volume narration ( I wondered about the house on the cliffs too) with speakers located about the boat. I did catch most of what the marine biologist had to say but only because I was near him. Great time

I suffered food poisoning effects early Tuesday morning, Happily, my friend was OK. We both boarded the boat, but I spent all of the trip belowdecks. She thoroughly enjoyed the voyage, under the circumstances and I was impressed with the concern of the crew and the facilities which were available and needed. We had planned to take two trips, the 10 to 12 and the 12 to 2. However, I couldn't make the second trip. I was pleased to be granted a gift certificate which I will definitely use in the near future.

The captain did a great job of trying to keep the boat from washing as much as possible on a very windy day.

The captain was well spoken and explained the life cycle of the Whales and Dolphins in a manner that the young children could understand and relate to.

We had a great time we saw a lot of dolphins and some whales, the captain was great, he would tell us where to look for the whales and he made sure both sides of the boat could get a good look at the whales

Like being on a cruise. We got a little more time since it was the last trip of the day. Started out foggy but cleared up at 3:00. Saw a gray whale which the captain was able to follow for a while. Saw the whale breached several times. After that we followed a school of dolphins. They came alongside the boat. On the way back, the captain stopped at a buoy where seals were resting. He explained why they were resting. They hunt at night and rest during the day. Enjoyed the trip with my daughter. Will do again next year.
