Though it was a rainy day and we didn't see any whales the crew kept us out longer than one hour and gave us vouchers for another cruise. Good times!

Though the weather was cold and windy, we did see one whale (they don't travel in pods, so it's really amazing that we even saw one, given the size of the ocean!). We also saw several small seals playing together, and 2 big sea lions in the harbor. There were approximately 40-50 people on the boat, and there was plenty of room. The crew were nice and informative. This is one of those things you should experience once in your life to say you've done it.

Liked the cruise and that we were able to see a whale within the first 20 minutes, but after that we were notified that we were heading out to see a pod of dolphins and the person who does the announcements never came back on for the next hour of the cruise. We really had no clue what was going on, if the dolphins were gone or what, or if we were heading further out or back. He finally came back on when we were in the harbor and it was obvious the cruise was over. Very cold too, so make sure you dress warm, recommend a hat!
Rating: 1 NOT worth the price

I read other reviews and hoped our luck to be different but honest truth is that this was not worth the price. The boat ride was nice but all we saw were two small whale tails. We didn't see and dolphins either. It's like we just paid for the boat ride. The folks inside the shop are not too welcoming either. I think it's due to the fact that they are busy and there are several things going on in the shop. The gal asked me for proof of my purchased tickets, I showed it to her and she took it from my hand without asking me if I need anything from the pages attached (I printed festival info, etc.). She handed me two tickets and pointed to the side saying "dock number 1". She did not make eye contact and never smiled or said hello.

There were no whales or dolphins to be seen at the time I chose to go. The good news is, if you don't get to see whale or dolphins you can come back again for FREE. Sealions were spotted and birds of course. The boat has a galley but not much room to sit down. If you are going to go on this whale watching expedition, see if the "Dana Pride" is running. That is a better boat with more seating in my opinion.
Rating: 4 No Whale Sitings But Free Tickets to Go Again

Unfortunately we did not see any whales on our chilly overcast morning but we were given our tickets back to use any other day we chose. Afterall you cannot control wildlife, it's like going for a hike and hoping to see a large mammal! As long as you look at the activity as a nice boat ride along the scenic coast you will not be disappointed. We will use our tickets and go back again.
Rating: 4 good trip if whales are spotted

this trip is a great outing if anything is spotted. it not it's slightly boring but they give you your ticket back if that is the case, allowing you to go again whenever you want for free so really, no matter what you always have a chance to see marine life. seeing the dolphins and whales is very thrilling. hopefully you see them on your outing...
Rating: 4 NIce cruise but no whales

I guess it doesn't happen that often, in fact, the boat before us (2pm sailing) saw a humpback, but unfortunately we didn't see anything-not even dolphins, which we were told are always around. Instead we had a nice cruise. The ship is clean and the crew is efficient. They are very prompt leaving and returning. Upon returning we did receive a coupon for a free cruise-which does not expire-so that was a plus. Cost was affordable and for 2 hours it really doesn't cut into your vacation time that much.
Rating: 3 No whales=Whale Check

The boat was well maintained and the voyage pleasant. Unfortunately, we sighted no whales. However, we were very pleasantly surprised when everyone on the boat was given a Whale Check for free passage on another day.
Rating: 4 Experienced Crew Leads Succesful Watch

My mother, sister and I have been whale watching together before. Although I had seen whales on other trips, we had never seen them together. It was obvious to me that the crew knew what they were doing. They communicated with the passengers effectively and found a grey whale right away. We had a great time!
