Well managed logistics

The process was professional and the crew very competent While on the excursion, was told that this "really isn't the time to look for whales, that comes in a month or two" by a local who regularly liked to take the trip to study dolphins, or so he said. If that is true, I think it would be better for the company to highlight that fact.

No whales and short on porpoises

It was a terrific day in Southern California to be on the water: clear, warm, beautiful!!! The boat and staff were great! We really enjoyed a nice cruise. Sadly, no whales -- not something anyone can guarantee, of course. Then, in the final 5 minutes of the cruise -- just in time to save the refund(!) -- we happened upon a couple of porpoises. As we disembarked, the staff wished each of us a Happy New Year AND reminded us over and over again that we had seen a couple of porpoises. I wouldn't have minded so much if the boat company weren't so blatant about protecting their refund policy.

The organization and process of ticketing, boarding, and disembarking was great. The crew was nice and they tried hard to find some whales in the two hour cruise. We spotted some riso dolphins near the end of the cruise and got up close for some good pictures of them. The ship was clean and comfortable. They did give us a $5 discount on fishing or whale watching later on.

I invited my children from San Fransisco to come and enjoy waching whales. The smal children were very exited. About 2 hours cruise we did not see any of sea animals. They told us we can try one more time. Hopefully the children will come again and partisipate.

We really enjoyed our cruise. We first saw sea lions on a buoy. Then one whale was spotted (by the crew), then a second one! Our captain followed these whales (as best as he could) for the rest of the cruise. It was great to actually see whales on a whale watching cruise. They, apparently, don't always find where the whales are hiding. I wished that I would have had a high-speed camera to capture pictures of the whales when they surfaced!

I have been on whale /dolphin watches all over the world. I have NEVER seen so many dolphins. There were hundreds of them frolicking all around the boat. Skilled captain knew just where to go.

It is the wrong time of year to go on a boat tour, but we were there. There was nothing wrong with the tour, but we did not see anything.

We had a great time on what seemed to be a brand new boat and, most important, got to see two blue whales and a fin whale. The captain had wasted no time taking us out to the area the blues were frequenting as this was the creature we all wanted to see. It was an unforgettable experience, seeing the world's largest living creatures

We (my wife and I) have been on numerous Whale Watching trips aboard the Dana Pride and each one has been a thoroughly satisfying and wonderful experience. Excellent captain, crew and vessle -- top flight all the way. We've taken family and friends along and have never been disappointed. In fact, our granddaughter will be visting us from Omaha next week and is very excited about going out with us, especially after hearing about our most recent trip where we encountered mega-pods of dolphin and a blue whale. I've also been on several fishing charters out of Dana Wharf and would rate these excellent as well.

WHALE OF A TIME

We celebrated our daughter's 42nd birthday with a Whale Watching trip out of Dana Point. She had always wanted to go, but there are at least three of us who have motion sickness. We took Dramamine - less drowsy type - and made it through even though the water was really choppy with a lot of whitecaps. We were just about to turn around and head back into the harbor when the crew spotted a blue baleen whale. So, we followed it around for about 45 minutes as it came up to breathe, and went down again, about every six minutes. Wish we could have seen a lot more of the whales, but had a really fun time with the one. Very interesting and my daughter LOVED IT! Thanks for the great trip.
