Wonderful Time!

After two weeks of stormy, cold weather, and very rough seas the skies were clear, temperatures were in the low 70s and the Pacific was like glass! After much anticipation, we departed the harbor in search of sea life and we were not disappointed! A lone seal was in the harbor, pelicans were on the jetty and not long after leaving port, we spotted the first of several gray whales. We followed the whales up the coastline until it was time to turn back. Several Pacific Bottlenosed Dolphis were sited as was lone sea lion sunning himself on a bouy. We had a FABULOUS time and will go out again if we're ever in California!

The weather was nice and we were able to watch the sunset off the water. No whales but plenty of other sightings.

Not Worth It

We spent two hours on a boat to see barley anything. I understand that they cannot do anything about how many whales you see or where the whales will be, but all we saw was the top of a whale and then turned around and went home. It was not even close to worth the amount we paid. I'm surprised we didn't get a free voucher after we wasted two hours to see nothing. I definitely would not do that again.

We had a good time. We didn't get to see any whales but saw plenty of dolphins and the crew made sure we had plenty of opportunities to take photographs. The crew also had cookies downstairs for Valentine's Day for free! Our day was windy, rainy and rough water but we enjoyed ourselves.

This was a GREAT trip!! We saw 4 whales and got a wonderful photo of a whale. The staff was very knowledgeable and conversant in whale behavior. The guy that was the speaker missed his calling as a Whale docent for Sea World!! I would recommend this trip to anyone and well worth the $29.00!!

This short (2 hour) boat trip was a great time. We saw a huge school (pod?) of dolphins - around 1000! We also saw whales although they were being reclusive and not showing much of themselves out of the water. The birdlife was very extensive - hundreds of cormorants, pelicans, etc. We also passed by a buoy to see a group of sea lions. The captain was knowledgeable about sealife and gave a good amount of information about it. I would highly recommend this trip.

People are friendly, boat was clean, refreshments on board, insightful descriptions. Couldn't have been better.
