Great company! Clean boat, great crew, free four hour parking, and we got lucky and saw 2 CA grey whales together. Lots of dolphins too ! It was relaxing and the crew was GREAT from check in to docking after the cruise. 04/02/2010. Will do this again next trip to CA. Great for kids, our 6 year old daughter can't wait to go back. The access from the freeway to the dock is easy too.

Wednesday, March 25th, 4pm cruise Didn't look good when we left port last Wednesday...but we ran into a HUGE pod of common dolphins. There were several hundred of them. On our way back to port we saw six grey whales and the ship captain let us stay out later than our designated time so that everyone would have a good chance of getting a picture. THANKS Dana wharf whale watching crew!!

Whale Festival Dana Point

I saw the Ad on an EMail from Fast Trax. Loked like a good activity. I bought (2) tickets on line. Nice and Easy. It turned out to be a beautiful day. We saw the first grey whale for the festival thi syear as well as many many dolphins, seals and more. The (2) hour ride was almost too fast. As we were on the 8:00 A.M. tour, afterwards we spent the rest of the day enjoying the activities in the area and then taking a romantic trip up the coast to Laguna Beach. We will do again!

Mother Nature keeps us waiting...

I loved that getting our tickets was so simple. Everyone was nice. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to see any whales but we did have a lovely afternoon out and we have a "whale check" to return for another adventure. You can't beat this policy! You cannot predict Mother Nature so just enjoy the ride and maybe you'll get lucky.

The store staff was rude. The boat staff was great

Went to get our tickets and the cashier was shoving food in his mouth and said,"What do you want" as half his breakfast hit the counter. He found our tickets and we asked "okay where do we go?" A female barked out, "where do you think" and pointed around the corner to several boats in the dock. How about,"I'll be with you in a second?" Or it's the boat with the name of ...on the back. very UNPROFESSIONAL. On the other hand, the boat staff was awesome! They narrated the whole trip and apologized several times because we saw something but lost it. It wasn't their fault but they felt like it was. They really offered a lot of info and even gave us a refund to come back again! That is the ONLY reason I'd come back; definitely not for the sale people. They (cashier) treated us and others like we were interfering wiith their day by showing up.

We didn't see any whales for the first hour and fifty minutes. It was a two hour trip and we were headed back to port when our captain heard or spotted one out a little ways. Instead of heading back, which he totally could have, he took us out there to see it. We were so grateful that he decided to do that for us, despite the fact that he would be running behind schedule. My four year old daughter was just floored. It was a wonderful day for us and I would recommend this company to anyone. And we are planning the same trip next year, and probably many more years to come.

Great way to enjoy a Sunday Afternoon!

Our 2pm Sunday cruise provided our first visit to Dana Point Harbor. We enjoyed the live music performed in the courtyard, courtesy of the Harbor Music Series. There were several restaurants and snack shops. While waiting at the dock for our boat to arrive, we watched kayakers and enjoyed the sea lions as they basked in the sun with flippers pointed upward. The boarding and launch for this cruise was quick and our crew was very excited to inform us that a pod of fin whales had been active for most of the day. Our boat speeds out and after forty minutes, the crew points out the whale spouts as we slow down and approach the area. There are three whales and we're able to view their dorsal fins and watch them blow out spouts of water into the air. There is no breaching or tale slapping behavior. One whale actually glides under the starboard area of our boat. Our boat is the only one out there and we're able to move 360 degrees around the deck. Our boat keeps stride with the whales and the crew helps point out where the whales will surface. Our crew is located up above the passenger level. Several passengers ask the crew to take photographs of their group from this upper level. The crew is very friendly and very obliging. Prior to our return to the harbor, a commercial sailboat arrives with a dozen tourists. Their adventure looks fun until one realizes that their viewing area is limited to the back of their boat and their view of the whales was often blocked by the boat itself. We heard a lot of disappointed moaning from their direction.

Had a great time

We didn't see any whales but we saw over a thousand dolphins. There wer dolphins as far as we could see. It was amazing! The crew was polite and helpful. Only one criticism = I am 84 years old and I would have had trouble standing the whole trip and too old to climb up to the available seating. My son hunted up a box so I could climb up. It would be nice if they had had a stool Otherwise it was delightful.
