Loved the trip

Whale watching was great. Saw some sea lions and was able to follow 2 whales for quite a while. The captain positioned the boat so that we did not have to take pictures into the sun. The crew was very friendly. Would definately go again when in the area. Would have loved to watch the whales even longer than we did.

My boyfriend had been wanting to go and I was flipping through our Entertainment book and found a coupon so I called and booked the tickets, when somthing came up and I had to change the time slot of our tour, they were very nice about it and didn't charge any change fees. It was a beautiful day and we both had a great time seeing dolphins but only one shy Grey whale, I would probably shy too if I were him...

We went on this adventure on January 9, 2010, to celebrate my sister's birthday, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. I suffer from motion sickness on almost all moving vehicles, but decided to go anyway because I wanted to spend the time with my family. I'm so glad I did, because I didn't even have a twinge of motion sickness. Although we didn't see any whales, we saw hundreds of dolphins and lots of sea lions, pelicans and seagulls. The crew was amazing and saw to our every need, including recommending a fabulous local restaurant for fresh seafood. Even if we hadn't seen any dolphins, it would have been worth the money just to be out on the ocean on a luxury yacht for a few hours. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Fun day at sea even without whales

We had a beautiful warm and sunny day to sail. Even though we did not see any whales we did see dolphins and sea lions. Staff was pleasant & knowledgable. Comfortable boat. One woman had a 3 year old and I wouldn't recommend for that young age group - she spent the time running around the boat after him! He didn't have the patience to keep looking out for the whales!

Very comfortable and relaxing boat! Incredibly courteous and knowledgeable staff! We can't wait to go again and this time bring our children! The trip would have been great without a sighting but to see the interaction of the whale with the dolphins was a gift from nature!!!

Although we had been out previously, this time we actually saw a WHALE. The boat's captain was able to keep the whale at about 50 yards to our port side and about 25 yards in front of the boat. we followed the whale for about 20 minutes and saw the tail multible times.

We had a great time on the Dana Wharf Whale Watching trip. The guides were very knowledgeable and provided great background on what we were seeing. In the end, we didn't get to see any whales, but nevertheless had a great time seeing tons of dolphins that swam right up to the boat. The cherry on top was that since we didn't see any whales on the trip, the captain decided to give all of us our tickets back so that we could come back for another trip for free! We thought that was a great gesture.

We were hoping to see grey whales but were just a little too early yet. Did see a blue, several sharks, several playful sea lions, and lots of dolphins that played around the boat and rode the bow. The captain's information as we went along was very interesting. We all had a great time and would do it again.

If only the whales had cooperated.

The boat trip alone is great, but it would have helped if the whales had cooperated and been present. We did see some California sea lions and the discussion about them and how they are different from seals was informative. We didn't see any other marine life except for sea birds until the very end when the boat ran thru some bait fish being chased by some dolphins. There was a potential sighting of a whale, but it was already too far behind us as we entered the harbor and we couldn't take the time to verify what it was. The captain made sure that we had the opportunity to go out again free of charge, which he really didn't have to do.
