Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

Took my 15 year old son to fish for giant squid as he'd seen an article on a yahoo news page. It was freezing and windy, several people threw up, but we had a wonderful time!! Can't say enough nice things about the crew. All guys were patient with our inexperience, very helpful and enthusiastic. Definitely recommend.

It was great. reservations were easy, parking was abundant (530pm boat), Captain did a great job in horrible conditions to get us squid.

First time squid fishing, lots of fun, especially when you have plenty to catch.

We did not catch a ton keeper fish, but we had a great time nevertheless, it was so much fun. I would recomend.

Whale watching is unpredictable, so don't expect to see the same show as the previous tour group - these whales are on the move - and fast! I was disappointed to only see 1 fin whale, but that's nature! There is great information about whales from the tour guide while waiting for "fin-again" (fin whale) to surface. I learned quite a bit, eventhough there wasn't much to see. We were lucky, however, to ride up on a huge pod of dolphins. It was just like DiCaprio in"Titanic", but much better!

The crew was fantastic at helping us get started fishing since we hadn't fished in many years! They were fabulous and helped make this a very fun event! The boat was wonderful and had great food aboard! It was a fabulous experience that we will be sure to do again!

Nice couple of hours led by an enthusiastic crew! We saw one Grey Whale and plenty of Dolphins that played alongside the boat, which was awesome. Well worth the money! The Thompson family (England)

Crew did a great job of helping several first time fishers Kids all caught a fish and the captain even caught a fish and handed the pole to one of the kids who had not aught anything. This was our 6th trip out this year and we will be back

We had a wonderful time! The crew was very helpful and gave us all the facts on the wildlife we saw during our Catamaran ride. We didn't see any whales but we did see hundreds of dolphins as they swam along side the boat for quite some time. It was an incredible experience that we will definitely plan to do again the next time we visit Dana Point. I highly recommend this adventure and taking advantage of 1/2 price Tuesday's made it affordable for us to do something out of the ordinary during our stay at the beach.

We did the half day fishing trip. It was fun but not what I thought it would be. We caught a couple small fish. The birds that follow were so annoying. The seals were cute but really... How are you supposed to catch fish when seals and birds are trying to take your bait and get your catch before you get in the boat. The water was choppy and I personally think we should have gone out farther to get some real fishing done. If I'm going to stand up for 5 hours and pay what I did I sure hope they would try to take you where you have the best chance to catch some decent fish. The crew and people in the store we nice and helpful. Pretty area but next time I will do something more productive.

Very professional, well-informed, friendly. Whatever you may see during your cruise, you'll be "Back" for sure!

I thought the Boat, Crew, Food, and the Ice Cold Beer were Great! As far as catching fish it didn't happen. However, I am not a fisherman. I smoked cigars, and brought a flask of Jameson. I had a Hoot!
