Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

While I understand and accept the fact that this is a nature trip and the company does not have control over what kind and how many different animals may be seen on the tour, we were mislead to believe there would be a good chance of seeing marine life, specifically, whales. However, we later learned that our trip was scheduled during an "off-season" for seeing whales. Just be honest. We still would've gone on the trip, but now I feel duped!

Went whale watching but was unable to see any but captain and crew were trying very hard to locate some whales did have fun with dolphins and got a chance to see sea lions and seals. The surprising part was captain had given us a pass Plus a coupon for half off for a family of four was not expecting that at all. Would have still returned due to the experience of the adventure. Thanks a lot my children and wife had s blast.

This was a great oportunity to take my not so little ones out to see whales. Although we only saw one Grey whale and her calf near the end of the trip (it is the end of their migration season) we saw a TON of dolphins!! They were all around the boat and my daughter took around 600 pictures during the trip. Plus the weather was beautiful and the captain was very knowlegable on everything he spoke on. Plus you can have a drink at Wind and Sea or Turk's immediately following your excusion...Highly recommended!!

Well worth the money - the captain was informative and tried his best to capture as much marine life as he could.

This crew was great. They knew exactly where the whales were. They kept a respectful distance and gave us a lot of information about the whales and dolphins. Will return when the blue whales are around.

We didn't catch much fish but the crew was awesome. We got to see a gray whale breach!

Very good experience. Used OCNET as code during checkout for 15% off. Though there is no guarantee we were able to see a total of 4 gray whales, 2 bluefin whales and maybe a hundred dolphins !! Kids are your best judge and ours enjoyed every bit. Very polite and knowledgeable captain helped matters more. I would definitely recommend this tour which is much cheaper than the other one at Dana Point.

We received the ticket quickly and had a wonderful time on our whale-watching trip. The captain went above and beyond making it an enjoyable trip.

I didn't catch a fish, but I did get a couple bites but it was just fun being on the water in this area for the first time. Will definitely go again soon now that I've got a little local seasoning. Other folks on the boat did catch fish I would like to add.

We're from OC and it's our first time to go on whale watching at 4pm schedule. I'd say the boat trip alone was refreshing. We spotted group of seals swimming so fast and 1 whale from a far. The whale was from a distance and we're not able to have a closer look. It's no disappoint at all because it's nature you're up against. You cannot tell a whale to swim near the boat. Having said that Dana Wharf was so nice to return our tickets for another chance to see the whale. Ticket can be used again anythime within the year. All in all the experience was awesome!

Saw dolphins, but no whales. Boat ride was nice on a beautiful day.

I'd been looking to go whale watching again...so happy with the price figured I couldn't go wrong. Nice clean boat with a snack bar, coffee and hot cocoa for the kids. Didn't see any whales so they gave each of us in our group a coupon which the other boats in the area don't do. I'll definitely try it again!
