Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

The tour was informative and fun. We will be going back for sure!

This company will give you a voucher to come back for a free trip if you don't see anything, but we did get to see some fin whales and a bunch of sea lions. It was pretty amazing. :) The group before us didn't see whales, but did see a lot of dolphins. It's a very unique experience that anyone who appreciates wildlife should try to do at least once in their life. You will also learn some things about the animals you see from the knowledgeable and friendly crew.

It was a great experience. The captain really wanted us to see something cool and didn't mind being a little late back to the dock so we could see the second largest whale.

We thoroughly enjoyed our whale watching excursion! The crew was great and started by making sure we knew the wind and waves would be a bit rough to make sure we were prepared, though it didn't really bother us. Honestly, it was a pleasure just to be out on the boat which was a good sized ship and was not overly crowded the day we went. As we headed out, they were sure to spend a few minutes pointing out the sea lions on the nearest buoy allowing everyone plenty of time for a good view or picture. The crew mentioned they were coordinating with other ships in the area sharing information on sightings to increase our chance of success despite the less than ideal weather. We were well rewarded! Though we only saw one whale, we were able to get extremely close and lingered for several of the whales' surfacing cycles. We appreciated how informative the crew was and the enclosed galley that offered drinks and snacks for sale. The trip was both relaxing and thrilling and we will definitely go again on our next visit in the area.

No whales on the first trip so we went out a second time on the company. Very informative and fun commentary.

I highly recommend this particular tour and tour company. The staff was very friendly & knowledgable. The boat was large enough for all passengers with room to spare. We did see one whale, which is what we wanted to see, so it worked out great! Wonderful Experience. I would definitely do it again!

The Dana Pride was a nice boat with informative narrative. Some of the family ate from snack bar and said it was very good. We did not see much sea life on our day but the cruise was fun anyway.

All boat personnel were extremely friendly and helpful. Within 45 minutes we spotted three Gray whales and followed them for about another 45. One of the boat staff gave excellent commentary including whale facts. The boat was clean and easy to navigate around.

The tour was amazing!!! The crew was nice and the boat was clean. We were able to see whales that day as wellas dolphins. Would definitely recommend the tour, and we will certainly do it again when we come back!!

Did not spot any whales but totally enjoyed boat trip out in the big blue. Boat/yacht was beautiful, clean with excellent menu selection in the galley. So relaxing and enjoyable. Saw plenty of dolphins which was spectacular. Totally appreciate voucher to experience again. Intuition says we will catch that grey whale next time

On the morning that we went, we did not see any whales (but TONS of dolpins!). They gave us FREE tickets to come back any time (they guaruntee a whale sighting). The crew was very informative and gave a great educational talk about the whales and dolphins. Overall, it was a nice way to spend a couple of hours out on a boat!

This was our second time at Dana Wharf and even though we didn't see any whales this time, it was our first time seeing dolphins in the wild. We got great photos, videos, and purchased a very fairly priced stuffed dolphin toy on board. Our family enjoyed the snacks and the cocktails, too! It was a great day and the staff was very kind. Since we didn't see any whales, and to their standards the dolphins weren't enough, we got a "whale check" for another cruise for free in the future, which we will certainly use on our next trip!

What a great experience, our captain and crew were very knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to see quite a few pods of dolphins (right next to our boat) and we saw 3 grey whales. The captain slowed the boat so we could get a better view, and even stayed out a little longer so we could enjoy our whale sighting. Other perks were the snackies, restrooms and inside viewing available down below. What a thrill to enjoy nature in their natural habitat.
