Fabulous & Exciting 2 Hr Tour
1/2 Priced Catamaran Adventure Whale Watch Cruises

I took my mother and daughter for an enjoyable morning cruise. My daughter wanted to ride a boat and we thought this would be a great introduction to boating. Everyone's adventure meter is different, but I had the time of my life. For my 2 yr old, live is always exciting and she had a grin on her face the whole time. What we got was an experience that was out of this world!! Granted, whale sightings are at their best but even if you only saw one whale, the trip was relaxing with great views of the coast line. The day we went, we saw over 15 whales and only had to wait 2-3 minutes between each whale. I was told usually it is 15 minutes because the whales dive deap to eat . This day the Krill was on the surface and the whales didn't have to dive too long. The crew was very courteous and very knowledgable. We took the morning cruise (10am) and the water was calm and there were plenty of young ones on board. They all seemed to enjoy themselves. Especially when the crew brought on board a bucket of Krill for the kids to play with. The boat is nicely supplied with snacks, grub and drinks so if you get the munchies, you will be fine. On the return, we saw a huge pod of dolphins and it was a blast seeing them swimming as fast as they can at the front of the boat. I have lived in Orange County all my life and I don't know why I waited so long to take a whale watching tour. This was the best time and I will definatley do it again and with Dana Wharf. This is truely a gem of Southern California. Enjoy your trip!!

We chose the catamaran tour because of the limit of 50 people. We did not want to be shoved like sardines into a tour boat. The catamaran was spacious and provided great viewing access for everyone on board. I have used this tour company before and we have ALWAYS seen whales! (maybe just our luck!) One thing that is not mentioned that I wish we had known about was the FREE BREAKFAST that was provided with the FREE LECTURE at 10am. It was very informative and humorous as well. Its well worth the additional money! The reservations were easy to make online and even if you are in a hotel and cant print the e-ticket out, they make it EASY by providing a number you can write down and take with you! The reservations department was well informed and I would certainly do business here again!

HI, We made this a family outing. Grandpa, grandma, three mommies, two daddies, nine kids from 3 to 15. It was the first time for many of the kids and they were excited to ride on the big boat. We saw lots of dolphins -- no whales this time -- and the weather was perfect. The crew members were courteous and helpful and friendly. The boat was neat and clean and in good repair. All in all, a fun experience for everyone. Thank you.

Not only did we have a great time seeing all the dolphins and the fin whale, but the captain of the boat was very knowledgeable about all the sea life and provided and detailed explanation of what we were seeing. All of us had a great time.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and then sometimes you win the star! The cat is easy to move in search of whales, and boy did we move. We saw the "tail" the ultimate in a whale watching trip. We saw so many whales that I lost count, several couples, and that was neat. The commentary by the Captain, was informative, interesting, and fun. You should go just for the lesson. We had guest from Tenn. and friends said " yeah yeah, sure you will see whale" They called everyone with excitement of the trip. Thank you for always kicking the bar up and making the experience better, I love the new boat.

This was my first experience ocean fishing, and it blew trout fishing out of the water! The captain knew just where to find the fish most of the time, and the barracuda meat is good for many meals!

best kind of learning for a kid -- and a blast

this is a fun trip. and even tho' we caught no fish that day, and it rained miserably, we still had a blast. it was really good to go on sunday for the 12:30 trip where they expect and accomodate children and beginners. also, it was so obviously healthy for my kid to get out of the world of memorization (school, tutoring) and obligations (do your homework, eat your veggies) etc, and simply into a world of authentic, natural learning -- experiential learning -- just BEING in it.. learning to DO. such as catch anchovies from underneath, set them on a hook, how to dress for inclement weather, what to bring for food, how to stay balanced on a boat that is rocking, how to interact with strangers (other people fishing and their kids), how to tell the difference between a whale, a sea lion and a dolphin (all of which he saw).. these things are priceless, and he can't get anything like this in school. frankly, i think school SHOULD be like this. i liked that the captain took the time to call the children down onto the boat in a separate group beforehand to give them a pre- orientation. this was neat. and his explanation was kind and patient. however, it could have been simplified. when he got into knots and how to wire the rod with weight and hook in several various configurations it was too complicated, and i think the children did not follow it (i know i didn't). but it didn't matter because his crew was helpful all day long with hooks, weights, bait, etc. In fact, i think his initial talk could simply have been limited to safety concerns and the basics of handling the rod/reel (which he did cover nicely). when it rained, i was surprised to see we were the only 2 who had brought raincoats/slickers. everyone else was soaked and miserable (tho' no one complained). my recommendation: consider checking the weather, and bringing raincoats if rain is a possibility, as well as a backpack with extra food, sunscreen, hats/sunglasses, aspirin, sandwiches and grub, and even a towel -- whatever you need for the day. you'll be glad you did. one more shout out to the great captain and crew -- they were a blast, quite professional, and very friendly and helpful. it was a great day, thanks guys.

My wife and I had a wonderful time on the boat. The crew went out of their way to be helpful, informative, and they didn't give up until we got to see marine life! I have been on other whale watching trips, but this was by far my favorite!

The crew were very competent and helpful and the boat was large and comfortable. Although we didn't see any whales we did get to see a lot of dolphin pods which was neat. Overall I would say it was a good experience. If we had the good fortune of viewing whales I would probably do it again. The dolphins were fun but, if I knew thats all we were going to see, probably wouldn't do it over again. Not that thats any fault of the crew. I know there is always an element of chance with this type of excursion. Based on my experience I may try it again but, if so, would try to schedule the reservation when a whale sighting was more likely (i.e. the right season).

We had the most magical time. I took my 5 year old and he and I had the best time sharing in the beauty of being around the pod of Dolphins and the Blue Whale. We had the pleasure of being with a select group of friends that chartered the boat for ourselves. I HIGHLY reccomend this experience! I can now check that off my "bucket list"!
