Whale and Dolphin Watching Adventure Tour

My family and I went on the evening boat ride and we loved it. We could not say if good things about the tour. The captain and his mates were awesome. We saw hundreds of dolphin and 5 whale. We also saw many sea lions. We have been on many boat tours and this one has been by far the BEST!! The boat was very comfortable and the staff were great. They knew the every move of the whale and could tell us when we could get the best view of the fluke. It was awesome. You will not be disappointed!!

Awesome Activity!

Our party of 5 enjoyed a 2 hr whale watching tour out of the Dana Point Harbor... it was awesome! My college age daughter asked if we were doing this just to kill time, and as it turns out this was one of her favorite activities of our entire trip! We saw dolphins w/their babies, grey whales and a seal or sea lion. The 12pm cruise wasn't crowded, the crew were friendly and we took lunch aboard with us. I highly recommend the 2hrs trip for families w/kids (along with some meclazine... non-drowsy medication for motion sickness). Everyone did great! Ordering tickets online for half price Tuesday was a bonus! We will definitely do this again.

Truly wonderful whale watching experience!

This is the third Whalewatching adventure i've been on this past month and was by far the BEST! In addition to the excellent weather - we lucked out-- dana wharf's catamaran is a great way to sail! This adventure, being an hour longer than the other tour (which is also great!) gave us more time to get to where we could see the grey whales. The dolphin love swimming in front of the boat and are incredibly fast! I think both tours are excellent but if you can afford the extra expense and extra hour for the catamaran cruise it is quite worthwhile. Hope to go back out again very soon! Thanks!!

Perfect Sunday Afternoon

A friend and I decided to go on a whale watching excursion as something different to do for fun. WELL, we had no idea how much fun it would turn out to be. We met a friendly couple from Palos Verde standing in line and found out this was their 25th trip! We had a ball with them. The crew was great. Todd, the captain; Morgan, a naturalist; and George, chief cook and entertainer, made us feel like we were invited guests on a friend's boat. The burgers and sandwiches we had were delicious! We were lucky enough to see several fin whales on our outing. Todd and Morgan informed us about the whales' characteristics and directed us where to look so we could observe them in the water. The two hours went by so fast. It was a perfectly wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. There will be many more in the future.

Loved this trip, website was very nice to use for booking, boat left on time and was very stable and comfortable on the water. Staff was diligent in maximizing the experience and very knowledgable about the marine life. They were really very pleasant and we would recommend the trip and take another one ourselves. Thanks very much!

Dolphins at a Discount
1/2 Priced Whale Watch (past event)

Went on the Whale/Dolphin watch cruise Tuesday 4/13. It greatly exceeded our expectations. While we did not see any whales, we did see and enjoy 600-800 dolphins jumping and playing for an extended amount of time. We were on the 12:00 cruise and were delighted with the accomodations and crew. The crew could not have been more knowledgeable and entertaining. The cruise, alone, was worth the money. The added plus of seeing so many dolphins and listening to the crew members was a bonus. When we are in California again, this is a must attraction for us.

Nice Boat, but bad fishing trip

My complaints: 1. The live sardines were to big. We couldn't even use them. 2. Only 5 keepers over 5 hours of fishing with 18+ anglers. My complimens: 1. Nice Staff, very helpful. 2. Clean Boat and great sandwiches.

Best value for our summer vacation memories!

This activity was not only the best value for a day trip, but was also the most memorable. We didn't get to see any whales, but the amount of dolphins we encountered was unreal! Our daughters(ages 5 and 8) were so excited. They were able to see the details in the dolphins faces and even named one "Flipper" since it kept doing flips in front of the boat. We LOVED it!

Took my family sport fishing and had a great time. We got a bit board staying in the same spot for the whole time. Would have liked to move to a different fishing spot to catch more fish. The crew was very helpful with all aspects of the fishing trip.

Dolphin Party
Sat, Mar 13, 10   11:30 AM jeff23 Male 30-39 Local Couple on a Date
My girlfriend and I had a great time. It was a little rocky, but that was to be expected. We saw a pod of dolphins- at least 100 dolphins in the pod. We followed the dolphins for about 40 minutes. There were dolphins everywhere. It was like the dolphins decided to throw a party. They were all around the ship. They like swimming with the boat and they get extremely close. We saw tons of dolphins (babies and adults). Dolphins were doing spins in the air and diving in groups of three. It was an amazing sight. We also saw a whale. I also liked the fact that they had beer and food on the boat. The staff was very informative. Very good for the price. I am definitely going to do this again in the near future.

Great trip!
Sat, Jun 2, 12   5:30 PM jeepluv97 Male 20-29 Local Family With Children
went out on the twilight trip on the clemente on 6/2/12 and had a great trip. It was a trip sponsored by friends of rollo (thanks guys!!) so kids were free. Took the nieces (5 and 7 yrs) and was kind of worried about it but it turned out to be an awesome trip. The crew was awesome and super helpful with everything and great with the kids. The crew tried really hard to get us on some fish but the conditions weren't that great so the fish seemed to be layin low. We still managed to get some fish to the boat tho, including a huge bat ray that all the kids got a huge kick out of watching the fight go around and around the boat. The nieces spent most of the time playing in the bait tanks (which i was worried about) but the crew was super cool about it and didn't mind at all. There was a full load of adults and a ton of kids but the deckhands and cook kept up with everything.. and the food was great. The captain was way cool too and spent a lot of time on deck with everyone and even let my niece sit in the wheelhouse and showed her all the fishfinders and whatnot when she started feelin a little sick on the way home. It was an awesome trip especially considering the conditions and a boat literally full of kids. Now everyday Im trying to find a reason to get off early so I can go back and fish with them again!! oh yeah and only 25 bucks right now for the twilight trip.?!?.. the boat ride alone is worth more than that... the great experience was a bonus!
