Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

My boyfriend and I took this trip for his b-day it was a surprise. It was great right from the start. We got in the boat and took a seat. The view was beautiful.... We were lucky to see to whales swimming rite next to each other. This experience is so much different than just seeing animals at Sea World. You get to see the whales in their natural habitat. It's also very relaxing.You have a choice of standing up in the deck looking out to the Ocean or seats in the shade that are very comfertable. We would to go again !!! And the people on the boat were very helpfull and nice as well. Thank You very much

My boyfriend and I had a great time on the 1/2 day trip which was at 6:30am. By the time the boat got live bait, it didn't actually leave until just after 7am though. The deckhands were extremely nice and helpful. There were alot of bites from fish, but my opinion is alot of the live bait was too large because the fish would bite the bodies off the bait, and leave the head. The fish that we caught were not too many and they were not large enough to keep. I had my hopes up that we would catch much larger fish. I also though we would go farther out. I would recommend this trip to others, we had a great time despite not bringing any fish home. I would try the 3/4 day next time.

The crew was great. The catamaran cruise had just the right number of people. Not too crowded. While we did not get to actually see any large whales, we did get to see a large school of offshore bottlenose porpoise. Very exciting watching how close they came to the boat. Highly recommend for anyone local or visiting the area for the first time.

A friend and I decided to go out on a 1/2 day boat. Weather was great, the fish were biting quite well. All in all, we enjoyed it a lot and plan to go again on a regular basis. The crew was very helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend.

It was fantastic!! The boat ride was wonderful as was the crew. We were able to see 2 different types of dolphins and sea lions. Even though we didn't see any whales it didn't matter. The dolphins put on a great show!! The whole trip was relaxing and exciting. I would totally recommend this trip to anyone and can't wait to go again.

The bait was great......was hoping to spend more time fishing, but it took quite quite a while to load the bait. Other than that, it was a great experience.

The Captain and deck hands are polite and on-hand to assist youngsters and everyone , whatever their level of experience,with tackle and taking the fish off the hook.

Everything was great. Dana point is very beautiful area to fish. Also, the deck workers were awesome. Not once did I have to pull a hook from a fishes mouth, and they were very helpful with line tangles. And being a beginner, there were alot of tangles. Thanks for making this day special and my dad I will be returning soon.

This tour was great! The tour guide was patient, informative, and fun and he definitely knew where to look! I would highly recommend this activity to anyone!

While we did not see any whales on our trip, the dolphins made the trip worthwhile! Our 8 year old son loved seeing the dolphins swim around us and under us. This trip is something you will never forget.

Very enjoyable out on the sea and watching the sunset while fishing. My wife and I were like two kids anticipating for a bite. The crew aboard were very helpful in removing fish from our line and cleaning our fish. Excellent service. It was very enjoyable and recommend everyone should try this once. Dan & Kim

We spotted hundreds of dolphins and followed a Blue Whale for several breathing cycles. The marine expert was helpful and answered all of our questions. We got some fantastic pictures and the kids really enjoyed the trip.
