Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

I decided to take a day off from work to try out the half-off deal on Tuesdays. This was our first fishing trip ever and we had fun though it would have been much more fun if we caught some fish. Crew members were friendly and helpful showing us how to use the fishing rods and hooking up the baits (about 4-inch long fish). I would definitely recommend first-timers to try it out.

Convenient location. Easy to find. Good people and good equipment.

We enjoyed seeing porpoises and sea lions on our trip -- and we love the feel of being on a catamaran!

WE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR TRIP WITH YOU. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. THE MARINE BIOLOGIST (A FEMALE) WAS FANTASTIC AND ENTHUSIASTIC AND THE WHOLE STAFF WAS SUPER-FRIENDLY. WE SAW TWO BLUE WHALES IN THE LAST HALF-HOUR OF OUR TRIP, PLUS SOME RIZO'S DOLPHINS AND SOME SEA LIONS, I BELIEVE IT WAS. THE WHALES WERE JAW-DROPPING AND AWE-INSPIRING. WE COULDN'T BELIEVE OUR EYES AND OUR LUCK. IT MADE OUR TRIP MAGICAL AND FOREVER UNFORGETTABLE. OUR SIX-YEAR-OLD SON SAID IT WAS THE BEST DAY OF HIS LIFE! NEED I SAY MORE?

My boyfriend and I had a great time fishing. This was his first experience deep sea fishing, and he loved it! We both were impressed with the crew. They were very organized and helpful to everyone. Very pleasant attitudes the entire time. We will definitely recommend this activity and return for another adventure soon!

We had a great time on what seemed to be a brand new boat and, most important, got to see two blue whales and a fin whale. The captain had wasted no time taking us out to the area the blues were frequenting as this was the creature we all wanted to see. It was an unforgettable experience, seeing the world's largest living creatures

The cruise was a great. We saw a Blue whale and her calf, a Fin whale, and sea lions. The captain did a nice job of keeping the ship out of the glare while we watched the whales take thier breaths. I would suggest being on the upper deck the view might be better. However, highly enjoyable anywhere on the ship. If you are on the fence than get off it and go already, it is a great time. We had the best time! It was a great adventure and I took some awesome pictures! They offered a free snack and drink onboard and we really enjoyed seeing the schools of dolphins, the sea lions and 4 whales!!! Everyone should take this trip at least once!! Thank you!

Dear Dana Wharf Sportfishing, I missed that the 12am i thought is was booking was actually 12pm. So I showed up at midnight and nobody was there. It was totally my mistake but I think it would be appropriate for Dana Wharf Sportfishing to give a small discount on another trip when it is missed by a passenger. I know there are costs for fuel and labor that must be accounted for but there is also a profit on services not rendered. This would allow Dana Wharf Sportfishing to offer a small discount to encourage patrons like me to go on another trip and not just leave disappointed after having to incur the expense of the trip (even though it was my fault) its just good business to have happy customers. I drove all the way from Moreno Valley before I realized the mistake. It would be great if you could send an email a couple hours before departure so this would not happen. Thank You. Rodger Smelcer

Catamaran was super ... naturalist was very informative ... we were blessed with dolphin and whale sightings. We will do this again!!!

I took my daughter-in-law on the trip for her 30th birthday. It was a perfect day weather-and-sea-wise and we saw hundreds of dolphins as well as one blue whale who kept appearing and disappearing throughout the whole trip. It was a fabulous adventure and we're so lucky to live here in South Orange County where we can do this type of thing, yet had never thought of doing it before. We'll definitely be back.

perfect way to spend an afternoon! Staff was just as excited as everyone else on the boat when we saw a humpback whale. Boat was clean and comfortable. Thank You!

I recommend this trip for a good day of non serious fishing persons and children. Nice trip to take you kids out on.
