Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

An amazing experience and people at Dana Wharf are excellent, already planning to go back and take the trip again in november. Very satisfied it was worth every penny.

As usual the Capt's enthusiasm for showing his guests the great mammals of the ocean paid off - two huge pods of dolphin with young, a small pod of Rizzo dolphin and a memorable encounter with a Blue Whale which thanks to the Capt's hard work we saw on the surface 4 times. The nice thing about this trip is that the Capt. and his crew really care and are knowledgeable about these animals and want their guests to see them - we'll be going again when the greys come by

You can't be sure about the number of fish you will catch but you can be sure that's the only uncertainty. Here's what I expect when I'm taking personal time off with the family: 1. All of the planning, arranging and logistics are easy. 2. No "bait and switch" (no pun intended). 3. Staff are knowledgeable and pleasant. 4. Execution is timely and efficient. When that happens - if you don't have a good time it's your own fault! We had a great time.

We had a wonderful time on the fishing boat. This was our first time on an ocean fishing boat. Everyone we talked to at Dana Wharf were friendly and understanding to our complete lack of knowledge. Unfortunately we dident catch any fish but the kids had a great time and so did my wife and I. Thanks for the good time

Its was fun considering the weather was bad and didnt catch anything

There were six of us that went and 4 were children that have never caught a fish before so we were hoping that they would get a chance to catch something , but unforunately the fishing was not very good that day and only one of the Kids caught anything, oh well ,better luck next time.

it was okay nice to go out to the water.I have a 5 and 10 year old child my 5 year old got really bored after the first hour but my daughter enjoyed it. We didn't see anything till just before the trip ended so it was a little long when all you can see is the ocean for miles.

If your looking for some fun that's under $100 per person. This is a great event. I had never been ocean fishing and wanted to try it, my frieands also. We had a great time caught a couple of fish, tried something new. The people and crew were wonderful. The boat was full, but still comfortable space for every one. I would not take my ACTIVE 12yr old on this adventure she would be bored. I'll do this again. Hopefully on a long run next time.

I would do it again

Now I know why its called a cattle boat. We were packed in like sardines. I was with 3 boys and could not find 4 spots to accommodate us. Way too crowded, even at 1/2 price on Tuesdays, it wasn't worth the drive. To add insult to injury, very slow day fishing.

I don't recommend taking the Tuesday trip because the boat was very crowded and the deckhands were not able to help everyone. Not many fish were caught on the day we went.

We went out on a 1/2 day boat for my son's 10th birthday. There were 8 altogehter with two 10 year olds. The day was great. Beautiful weather. The captain announced my son's birthday on the loud speaker and everyone cheered. He got such a kick out of that. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast burrito from the gally was big and tasty! We didnt catch a great deal of fish, but we enjoyed the day very much and would go out with them again. Overall a fun day and a good experience.

Crew didn't really try to find the fish. Stopped chumming on second of third stop and only went 2 miles outside of harbor

I'm not a fisherman and was therefore a bit stressed about tying hooks onto the lines and baiting these hooks. The crew on board the Clemente was extremely helpful, polite and courteous. They made the trip very enjoyable. They were great with my kids, teaching them about the different types of fish we were catching, baiting their hooks for them and tying any hooks for me. The crew did all of the "dirty work" for us and we simply had to drop the bait into the water. The meals were also reasonably priced.

The catamaran felt safe and yet we had quite a ride with the waves running about 4-6 feet. We didn't see any whales but quite a few dolphins.
