Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

an amazing trip, great staff, very knowledgeable. boat was amazingly fast and smooth too

the staff was excellent and the trip was alot of fun sometimes it was hard to hear the loud speaker to know a little bit more about the suggestions of the fishing. It would have been more fun if we had all caught a fish. the food was very good. My 11 year old daughter now wants to go on an all day trip instead of the 1/2 day. It did seem like it went fast.

Never been out of Dana Point before, but will highly recommend using them again. Checked in with out any problems and waited in line to board. Once aboard the crew was extreamly helpful and polite. Once we arrived at the spot the captain decided we should fish from. We droped anchor and imediately brgan to catch fish. Even when I brought the fish aboard the crew was quick to remove the hook and get me back in the water. He also placed my fish in the gunny shack provided by the boat. The gunny sack was only 1 dollar, but the best dollar I'll ever spend, as amatter of fact the price of the 1/2 day boat was the best fishing for the price you will ever receive. Our 2nd trip. Took 2 Grandchildren with us this time, they loved it. This will become a regular activity for ourselves and guests visiting us from back home (MI).

The fish were biting on this day, the crew were freindly and informed, and it was a very pleasant outting. I had a great time .

The staff is what impressed me the most and the patience they showed the children! We will be bringing 20 scout boys on this trip because of your staff, expertise and professionalism. We had a blast! Out of the 5 of us, I caught the only keeper, a 6 lb halibut which won the jackpot! However all five of did catch something. The crew was extremely friendly and helpful and deserved all tips they received. My wife has the bug now and wants to try a 3/4 day boat now. You will be seeing us again soon.

Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to spend quality time with my older brother. This 1/2 day Dana Wharf experience was perfect and Zerve made it very convenient and seamless, just pick, click, print & go! My brother (as always) kept bragging how he was going to win the jackpot and how he never gets skunked, well a small child with some assistance from the very capable, ever-present deck-hands, landed the jackpot winning halibut. My big brother had to wait until the final hour of our adventure to keep his skunkless streak alive, finally bagging a keeper. My brother and I have decided to make this a monthly event. Those of you reading this, put down the remote, take the game controller away from your children, log onto Dana wharf fishing, find the time and length of day that suits you, book it through Zerve and enjoy each other in a natural setting, I did!!!

The money was well worth it and the 2 for 1 Tuesday was great. I had a great time with my grandson and he really enjoyed himself. The staff was very helpful and even though the boat was crowded there was always someone around to assist.

Our family had a totally fun experience! Although the boat was a little crowded (we went on a half-price Tuesday), the crew was attentive to everyone and did a great job of helping out! Boat was clean, atmosphere was nice ... I think my eight-year old granddaughter is a fisherman at heart ... We'll do this again~ So much fun!!!

I brought my 13 year old son with me and we really had a great time, the crew was very helpful and always ready to lend a hand if lines got tangled and always there when a fish was landed to put it in the proper gunny sack. They even quickly re-rigged my son's line when it needed to be cut due to major tangles. I would highly reccomend Dana Wharf for day fishing.

Seeing two mature blue whales up fairly close and tracking them for an hour was a great experience. Seeing a school of nursing dolphins on the way out was a bonus. Paying $20 extra per person for the 1pm cruise gets you a trip on their brand new catamaran which is fast, quiet and clean with no diesel or exhaust fumes. The crew was polite, friendly and knowledgeable. If you have a little luck with the whales as we did, it's hard to see how you could not enjoy this trip.

The 1/2 day fishing trip is in my opinion is the best way to spend an afternoon. Myself and my group of friends plan on making it a once a week thing if possible. The crew is awesome and the burgers are even better. I will recommend this to all my friends.

The deck hands were not attentative to all fishermen. Stayed primarily at rear of the boat and were not available to assist all passengers,
