a little disappointing this year

| it was a beautiful day on the ocean. the crew was nice and tried to find a whale for us to see. but, no luck. we got whale checks just the same and will try again next year. i enjoy whale watching but was sorry we had no luck. though, like i said, it was a nice day at sea with my friend. | ||||||

| The staff was friendly and helpful. The fishing was slow due to the weather and they tried to get us to better fishing. All in our group caught at least one fish, just not big enough to keep. | ||||||

| We are from Wisconsin and purchased tickets in advance. This worked very well. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were forced to cancel our 1200 reservation, but were able to quickly reschedule to the 1600 time slot by going online. The cruise was very nice, even though we did not see any whales. We were given the replacement tickets for a later date. (I'm not sure when we would use them.) Overall, still worth the trip! Thanks!!! | ||||||

| The boat captains were helpful, friendly, and focused on finding sea life for our entertainment. There was plenty of room on the boat and the experience was really fun for all of us. | ||||||

Not so Deep Sea Fishing

| There could be a number of reason why it was like this, (it was just the time of year, last week of March, or that a strom had made the waters cold, we had only half a day, ect.) but the deepest we ever fished in was 66 ft of water. Nothing substantialy large was caught eithe and I think it would be safe to say that most of the people didn't catch anything. The last spot we fished was in 18 ft of water. We road a half an hour down the coast (never more than 900 yds from shore) to our fishing spots. I remember a time when my dad went out deep sea fishing south of Portland where they were fishing in 900 ft of water and bringing in monster fish every cast . Maybe it was ingnorance on my part, but that was what I was hopeing for, not 18 ft of water with little rockfish. Perhaps it would have been better fishing on a longer trip. I don't konw. | ||||||

| Didn't catch any fish. Didn't even see dolphins or whales. Of course the ocean is beautiful and relaxing, but it was an expensive fishing trip for our group, and we were very disappointed. | ||||||

Whale watch tour

| The 10-12pm Whale watch tour on Sunday, March 22 should have been canceled due to stormy weather and we should have gotten our money back. We saw no whales and the boat ride was very turbulent causing sea sickness. Upon realizing this the Dana Point whale watch tour canceled the remaining tours for the day. Not satisfactory. | ||||||

| The cruise was pleasant and the boat was very clean. The crew was also very friendly and helpful. We didn't see any whales but we did see dolphins and sea lions. All in all it was a very pleasant way to spend 2 hours . | ||||||

| If you have your heart set on spending a ton of time watching the dolphins or whales you may be a little dissapointed. We saw a good number of dolphins and stayed around them for about 15 minutes, but then kept going in search for a whale. We never found one, so the rest of the time we were just enjoying the ride. Its a nice relaxing time to spend with a date...lots of time for conversation...and of course great scenery. I would definitely recommend it! Since we didnt see a whale we did get a couple of vouchers for 10% off our next trip...and if you dont see anything at all they will give you a ticket for another free ride. Overall it was a great experience! | ||||||

| We all really enjoyed the event the weather was great and the tour guide was quite informative. we did not see any whales but the dolphins were great. The only thing was that the tour is spose to be 2 hours , we departed after 2PM and returned before 4PM, so it was hour and half, instead of two, it could of been little longer. defenatly would recommend to friends and will do it again, if you won't raise the fee and not keep it short. Thank you | ||||||

| We had a great time. George (in the galley) made my wife and daughter feel very welcome. My wife says that he "makes a mean burger". We didn't see any whales, but did see lots of dolphins and sea lions. | ||||||

| First I want to say my children consisted of 17-22, 3 of them. It was very cold and windy and were very disappointed that they did not see any whales. We did see sealions and black and white dolphins, and the gray flipper like dolphins. Our guide kept referring to the few sitings we had as the kind you would see in sea world.....Well I don't think that was necessary, due to the amount we paid we could of gone to sea world and saw many more things including the above. There just need to be a strong statement that whales are a treat for the tour, not a given. As long as you see dolphins there is no refund for the ticket, so just beware. If you see a whale consider yourself lucky, but if you want to see some dolphins and maybe some sea lions, and if your lucky to have a beautiful day, it is a great trip. The Chef on board makes delicious hamburgers fyi. | ||||||

| We didn't see any whales but lots of dolfins playing with the boat. The crew was great lots of information given and spent their time really looking for the whales and made sure we got to see the dolfins up close. We also saw sealions. My daughters really enjoyed it even though it was a bit cool (weather). | ||||||
