Disappointing

This is the second time I've taken this whale watching cruise during "whale season." Both times the only thing we saw were dolphin, which are not hard to find off the coast in that area. I see them from the beach every time I'm in Dana Point/Capistrano. The captain kept telling us that dolphin are in the "whale family." I guess that is so when we don't see an actual whale we're supposed to feel better? I guess that's how they don't use their "money back guarantee?" If you see a dolphin...you're still seeing something. And yet the whale statistics on the site make it look like they're seeing many whales every day? When we did see the dolphins, more than 35 minutes were spent just driving in a circle to the point where I was almost dizzy. After about 10 minutes of that not only my kids, but also the entire kindergarten field trip, who were also on the boat, seemed to be bored with it. All in all the cruise was disappointing...again. They gave us a 10% off coupon for the next purchase, but after 2 disppointing trips on the same boat, I'm not sure I'd spend over $100 again to see dolphins...even with the whopping $3 off. On top of that, after not seeing any whales, they asked for tips upon leaving the boat.

This was an amazing experience! The crew did an awesome job of pointing out different things for us to see and locating whales. The whales were unfortunately inactive, but the crew put our boat in the middle of a huge pod of dolphins. Amazing! It was inexpensive and I will definitely do it again the next time (and every time) I am there!

My family and I were visiting from Texas. This was an awesome trip, we actually saw some gray whales. We saw lots of common porpoise and some sea lions. We also got a beautiful view of the coast. The water was so blue. I would recommend this to anyone who might be interested. The crew was very knowledgable as to the location of the wildlife and gave us a great cruise and a wonderful family memory. Thanks!

Enjoyed the trip out to watch the gray whales. Followed a couple of grays for quite a distance. The grays are always amazing creatures to watch, but almost more exciting is the pods of dolpins also seen on the trip. We have been out before, but on this trip we were taken back by the hundreds of dolphins we saw this time around. Their playfulness and common interest in playing in the boat's wake is certainly something to see. Great fun and phenomenal pics (in and out of the water!) We always enjoy the ride, the crew and the tour. Learn something new each time and find the trip well worth the money!

My husband and I grew up in San Diego and have lived the last 10 years in this area. Neither of us has ever gone on a whale watching event. We wanted to do something interesting to celebrate our daughter's 17th birthday that was outdoors and camera friendly. We had the most amazing day from the weather to the two whales to the thousand dolphin. The crew was extremely professional and personable at all times looking out for the best experience possible for their clients. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience. We will definitely repeat this event and be a tourist more often. Thank you so much for the beautiful day.

WE came from Oklahoma to vacation, this was on our to do list. Booked it over the phone, very easy. Directions was very easy, had no problem finding it or the parking. Got on the boat without any problem, was able to walk about the boat, which made it easy to go to side to side to see the whales. I recommed not setting on the inside, you have to get up and go out to see anything, we stayed on the back of the boat which was beautiful. The guide was excellent at finding us whales, I believe we came upon 2 within 30 min., followed them for an hour. Brought us upon another 2 whales feeding. Didn't see dolphins, but that was because we had such a great turn-out on whales, so we didn't mind, after all we were whale-watching. The boat ride was smooth. Over all, excellent experience, the tickets were cheap and they took us to whales. So if you ever want to see whales, do it because they make it a very easy to get tickets, to get there and make it worth your wild.

I am from Dana Point and had never been Whale Watching. My boys are huge animal lovers and took them on this trip. They had a great time! We saw lots of dolphins, a seal and a mother and baby whale. The crew was great as well. Very nice. Will be back again! Thank you for everything.

A Must Do in California

We went on the 2 hour Whale tour on March the 17th at 10:00 A.M. The boat ( Dana Pride) was neat and clean (ship shape, so to speak), smooth running and not over crowded. The capitan did a great job narrating. We actually found a couple of whales courting. Didn't really get to see to much of the whales. They don't get up and out of the water for pictures but we did find an awesome pod of about 1,000 dolphins and they were posing for pictures with their kids. The weather was great but a light jacket was needed. Great view of the shore. There was a small galley and the boat coffee was great. The dock area was neat and clean and sprinkled with shops. The trip was well worth the price.

This trip was wonderful! It is nice to go out on a boat ride on the ocean and see the dolphins and whales! It is also affordable! I definitely recommend this tour! The staff were very friendly and provided interesting information on the animals we encountered.

We had a wonderful trip whale watching--I had tickets from a previous trip where we didn't see any dolphins and/or whales. However, this second time around we saw a pod of dolphins and two whales. The people who work with this company are very polite and accomodating--once we found the whales they followed them for approx. 20 mins so that we could see them up close. It was a great experience and I can't wait to bring my grandchildren back !! Thank you.

A Fun Time!!!

The only down side was that we did not find any whales on our excursion (the cruise just before ours had found one). However, it was more than made up for by the "jackpot" of dolphins we found. There were literally hundreds in a massive pod. They put on quite a show for us. Weather was beautiful and cruise employees were excellent.

Would recommend this to anyone and everyone. The entire family from Texas (10 total 4 children ages 4 to 9 and 6 adults) enjoyed this adventure. The experience was worth every penny. The kids are still talking about the things they got to see. Thank you for adding to our trip to Southern California. The Clark Family!!!
