Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

The staff was great. The boat was great. Enjoyed chasing the dolphins around and around. Enjoyed hearing about dolphins. Staff estremely helped. Loved the grilled cheese sandwich. Have done it several times and don't care if we see the whales or not - the dolphins are a fun to watch. It is relaxing sitting inside if you do not want to stay outside.

From leaving the dock, to returning our needs were met. The crew was right there for advice, helping to untangle lines and take fish off the hooks. The Capton did all he could by taking us from spot to spot to find fish that would cooperate and bite. The Galley was good, and the food also good. I will be back out when the time allows it for me. I will recommend the trip to anyone wanting a great fishing experience. A great day for the kids also.

The weather was good and the accomodations were good also. The staff was helpful in setting up the proper gear and bait. Although the catch of fish was minimal, there was a grey whale pup that was seen, dolphins, and an awnry sea lion (I expect he was catching fish), All in all a good trip and reasonably priced. I expect to go on another sea fishing adventure this summer when the fish are a little more plentiful.

Within 10 minutes of leaving the harbor we saw our first Whale and her calf! It was fantastic. We followed the two of them as the captain told interesting facts about the whales. It was a fantastic trip and I highly recommend it to ALL.

The ship was clean and the crew nice and helpful. The captain gave all kinds of interesting information about whales and other sea life. We saw a grey whale and her calf breaching as they swam along. This time we left on time and came back on time. All in all a very fun trip. My kids loved the boat ride almost as much as seeing the whales.

Found Whales right out of the Harbor. We tired of Whales and spent most of the day cruising through a hugh pod of Dolphin. At least 250 in this pod. The Dolphin put on a great show. We next sited 3 whales in a group on our way back to port. What a memorable experience.

When individuals from outside California call to make a reservation, please share more information about fishing conditions and how they are different through out the year. Also we were unaware that food would be available on the boat.

I enjoyed the trip and the crew was responsive and friendly.

it was a beautiful day on the ocean. the crew was nice and tried to find a whale for us to see. but, no luck. we got whale checks just the same and will try again next year. i enjoy whale watching but was sorry we had no luck. though, like i said, it was a nice day at sea with my friend.

Staff were upbeat, helpful, knowledgeable and that just naturally led to an overall postitive atmosphere that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The cruise was pleasant and the boat was very clean. The crew was also very friendly and helpful. We didn't see any whales but we did see dolphins and sea lions. All in all it was a very pleasant way to spend 2 hours .

I had never been whale watching and thought it would be nice to do something different for my birthday. The trip was pleasant and the crew and other passengers were very nice. We saw many dolphins but unfortunately there is no guarantee that you will spot any whales.

It was fantastic. We actually saw a whale playing with dolphins. The whale would roll completely over, flapping it's flippers and the dolphins were jumping over the whale and actually jumping on the belly of the whale. The whale also fluked 4 times.

Enjoyed the trip out to watch the gray whales. Followed a couple of grays for quite a distance. The grays are always amazing creatures to watch, but almost more exciting is the pods of dolpins also seen on the trip. We have been out before, but on this trip we were taken back by the hundreds of dolphins we saw this time around. Their playfulness and common interest in playing in the boat's wake is certainly something to see. Great fun and phenomenal pics (in and out of the water!) We always enjoy the ride, the crew and the tour. Learn something new each time and find the trip well worth the money!
