Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

Went whale watching but was unable to see any but captain and crew were trying very hard to locate some whales did have fun with dolphins and got a chance to see sea lions and seals. The surprising part was captain had given us a pass Plus a coupon for half off for a family of four was not expecting that at all. Would have still returned due to the experience of the adventure. Thanks a lot my children and wife had s blast.

This was a great oportunity to take my not so little ones out to see whales. Although we only saw one Grey whale and her calf near the end of the trip (it is the end of their migration season) we saw a TON of dolphins!! They were all around the boat and my daughter took around 600 pictures during the trip. Plus the weather was beautiful and the captain was very knowlegable on everything he spoke on. Plus you can have a drink at Wind and Sea or Turk's immediately following your excusion...Highly recommended!!

The day was beautiful, perfect for a boat ride. The boat had lots of room outside as well as inside. The captain said it was a perfect day to see whales, dolphins and other marine life. We quickly saw sealoins clinging to a bouy, about 25 minutes later we saw a school of dolphins and the captain knew just how to make them perform for us. Finally about 2 hours into the trip, we saw a mother whale and her calf briefly. The captain provided lots of great information and allowed the boat to idle so everyone had time to take any pictures they wanted. We came back a few minutes later than scheduled but that was because the crew searched tirelessly for the whales. It was a great boat ride with the benefit of seeing some authentic marine life. One thing that really impressed me, was that the captain and crew were very respectful of the marine animals, particularly the mother and child whales and didn't want to stress them out too much.

Well worth the money - the captain was informative and tried his best to capture as much marine life as he could.

We knew that we were a little late for whale watching as most had migrated north, but our crew spotted a mama gray whale and her baby. We had dolphins racing our catamaran. The ride alone is worth the trip, it is thrilling and so much fun - catamarans are the best! I would do this trip again and again, maybe a bit earlier. The crew was wonderful! Thank you for a great ride!

We were a group composed of three sisters and our husbands' in California for the wedding of our cousin. He recommended an afternoon of whale watching, and we decided to go, even though it was late in the season. To our delight we not only saw dolphins, but a mother whale and her baby. Jr. was quite the showman! His antics had all of us on the catamaran staring with our mouths agape. The youngster provided an outstanding performance that was simply breathtaking. Our pilot kindly extended our cruise in order to allow plenty of time for everyone to be amazed. It was a magical afternoon.. We all decided that this cruise was the highlight of our trip - and that is saying a great deal as the wedding we attended was held at the Chart House in Dana Point, on Saturday, the day of the Flower Moon! Only the sight of one baby whale hamming it up in what was surely pure joy, and who loved showing off could top those two events! None of us will ever forget it.

the weather was great and the boat ride was as well. We saw a mother and little one (whale) and a large pod of dalphins. It was done well with a great deal of info on the animals.

This crew was great. They knew exactly where the whales were. They kept a respectful distance and gave us a lot of information about the whales and dolphins. Will return when the blue whales are around.

Followed several Grey whales spouting (maybe a baby or juvenille). choppy swells and my gf starting feeling woozy. A beautiful sunny trip to Dana Point a success.

It was fantastic!! We saw a blue whale, a shark, and sea lions. The captain was informative and very patient. We got to follow the whale for some time while we watched it swim on it's long journey. It was so peaceful and the boat was big enough so you didn't get sea sick easily. I loved it!!

We had a great time.....we went on your trip twice in the past month and saw whales both times.....and hundreds of dolphin....I was amazed at the crew's ability to spot them....and they were beautiful and so peaceful and Free.... We will recommend the trip to all we know.....

Saw lots of playful dolphins up-close, also saw an Elephant Seal and some Fin Whales. The crew was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the boat was roomy and comfortable. And the 1/2-price tickets were certainly a good deal! :-)
