Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

They didn't tell me that we were not going to see any whales....thought they had them reserved for our viewing....NOT.....even though we didn't see any whales, a pod of dolphin were there for us to enjoy. Well maintained vessel, polite and helpful crew, easy to find location, a good all-around time....now, if they can just get the whales to cooperate......honestly, worth the time and enjoyed the trip.

WHALE WATCHING HAS ALWAYS BEEN A DREAM OF MINE AND YOU MADE MY DREAM COME TRUE. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING. THE ONLY REGRET I HAVE IS THAT I WASN'T ABLE TO SPEND MORE TIME WATCHNG. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE. THANK YOU

Dana point is a wonderful SC harbour

Whithout having to drive all the way to the harbor, I just purchased thru " Zerve". This service was quick, easy, and best of all free.

A great trip with the kids (9 & 11). They caught a decent number of small fish and had fun doing it. As far as actually getting some fish to take home and eat, it didn't happen.

It was so much fun -- from the greeting by the staff, to the captain's whale expertise, to the dolphins showing off alongside the boat -- all wonderful. Best of all, of course, were the wonderful HUGE blue whales. A truly wonderful day!

We had family in from out of the country and they had been wanting to do this for some time. We had checked out many different companies before we settled on Dana Wharf. The reviews we read sold us on them. We had a doubter amongst our group that had already prepared himself to not seeing anything that day. As the boat exited the harbor on it's last turn passing the sea lions, a shout was heard of a sighting at 10 o'clock (meaning direction it was seen). We all turned in that direction to see a second sighting. The captain announced it was a mother and her young calf. We followed her a bit but gave her plenty of room so as not to scare or annoy them. We later came across another mother and her calf not too far away. The crew was friendly and the boat clean. We definitely will be recommending Dana Wharf Whale Watching cruises. My husband and I are already looking forward to our next cruise later this summer to see the blue whales migration.

What a great trip! I went because of my parents, and I'm glad I did. We all had a great time. The crew was awesome. The captain was very knowledgeable, and kept the trip fun and interesting. Iwill certainly recomend it to all my friends

The boat was well maintained and clean and appeared to be a sturdy vessel. The captain was interactive and cordial with the group on the boat. However, he couldn't find much for us to look at. So I would not call my experience a whale watching tour but more a nice 2 hour boat ride.

Our Captain was super nice, knowledgeable, and personable. His respect of the ocean and oceanlife was so appreciated and inspiring! We followed two whales' journey and played with so many dolphin!!!! Truly one of the best days ever in the heart of God's creations!

There were four people in our group and two of us caught fish, 1 each both small mackerel. According to the fish counts that we could see online it looked like they were averaging 384 fish per day for the prior 5 days and on 4/5 38 fish and then a full boat load of people we couldn't have been more then 4 miles at the most from the port and we don't even catch an average of 1 fish per person. I realized that is why it's called fishing and not catching but to only catch 10 percent of what they had been averaging the prior 5 days.

Not only did we have a great time seeing all the dolphins and the fin whale, but the captain of the boat was very knowledgeable about all the sea life and provided and detailed explanation of what we were seeing. All of us had a great time.

I would highly recommend this company to others for whale watching. The guide was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the whales. It certainly helped that we saw whales within 20' of the boat but beyond that I felt it was a great crew that would make the most of every trip out.
