Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

An amazing family adventure we will always remember! I wish I could upload a couple photos, we saw so much sea life and I learned a lot of new facts about whales and dolphins. There was so much whale and dolphin activity on our trip, we felt so lucky!! We will sail again with you. My 5th & 4th graders think October is the best month because we were so lucky with what we saw, looks like we have a new October tradition in our family!!

The afternoon was wonderful aborad the Ocean Adventure. Because it was apretty windy day, no whales were in sight but we did see hundreds ot dolphins and that was a lot of fun especially swiming along side of us. I would recommend this excursion to everyone. The crew was great too. Thanks for the great time!

from getting tickets online to the service at the boat house everyone was nice and helpfull.Then getting on the boat the captain and deck hands were helpful and patient. we had a great time thanks!

Squid fishing was a blast. My 8 old son keeps asking me when were going again.The bite was wide open. We must of landed 30 squid.

Went Squid fishing. The Captain moved around to put us on them. Crew was nice in spite of the boat being crowded. Good Boat.

I was with my fiancee' on a date and we both love the water. We were definitely hoping to see some whales, but we didn't. We did, however, see dozens and dozens of dolphins that were very active and fun to photograph and watch play. We would definitely do this again and recommmend this to anyone.

We went out hoping to find yellow tail, bass and others. The first thing we ran into were squid, not just squid but tens of thousands of them. None of us had caught squid prior to this trip, it turn out to be hilarious, fun, wild and then some. The first thing they do is blast you with their propelled ocean water, then ink the heck out of you next...it went flying right into our unsuspecting fishing cohorts. We laughed so hard at the expression of our unsuspecting family member who got it full boar into his face. We were covered with ocean water and ink from head to toe. The boat was great! Food good. Only wish we could have caught more.. meaning yellow tail, etc. We did get a couple small bass. One member packed up thirty pounds of squid to bring home.. caught far more but one can only take so much on a plane. The crew work their rears off, excellent crew on board.. clean boat can't ask for more. We plan to go out of Dana Point Wharf again.. it's the best. Really a great ride, and experience. The sea life alone can keep you more then entertained. Spectacular!

We had the most magical time. I took my 5 year old and he and I had the best time sharing in the beauty of being around the pod of Dolphins and the Blue Whale. We had the pleasure of being with a select group of friends that chartered the boat for ourselves. I HIGHLY reccomend this experience! I can now check that off my "bucket list"!

Yes, we saw whales, but only when the boat turned on its own or the whale popped up beside the boat. The boat is not big enough for all to be on the bow so many of us were on its side. The captain was so worried about taking photos himself that he would constantly turn the boat to face the whales. This left some of us behind the crowd, unable to see anything. Thank goodness whales are unpredictable and they showed up out to the side once in awhile or we wouldn't have seen much at all. No tip for that cappy!

The boat was nice and the crew was excellent. We did not catch many fish(3) but it was worth the money. We will be going again. We went on the Sunday afternoon 1/2 day as one child is free with each adult paying.

My daughter and I went hoping to see a whale, but saw so many that I lost count. And at least a hundred dolphin swimming right next to the boat. It was an amazing experience! One that I will never forget and she is 16 and hopefully will never forget it either. It was well worth the money! I would definitley recommend doing this if your at Dana Point.

As a certified "whale geek," I've been on a lot of whale watching cruises with a variety of companies. My afternoon on the water with Dana Wharf Whale Watching definitely ranks near the top of all my experiences. The crew was helpful, informative and courteous. We learned about the area, the animals and more. The boat was fantastic. Clean, stable, well appointed. There was plenty of room for everyone to have a great view. Oh, and the view? We were treated to great looks at blue whales, common dolphins and California sea lions. Not to mention the beauty of the California coastline. We had a fantastic time. We'd recommend Dana Wharf Whale Watching to anyone looking for a good, safe wildlife viewing adventure. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Southern California!

We enjoyed the twilight fishing with the gang at the Dana Warf Sport Fishing! We had a great time. The crew did a great job of helping us out with the "fish on" and addressing the needs with our tackle. We will be back!

Never thought we'd see a whale, let alone 2 blue whales! Multiple sightings and the iconic tail fin, also loads of dolphins. Didn't bother doing Seaworld after this, much better to see the animals in their natural environment. Had a brilliant time, would and have recommended it to others.
