Outstanding Family-Friendly Fishing Trip

| Three generations of my family participated and all caught multiple fish. Crew was extremely helpful and provided special attention to kids with backlashes. Boat wasn't crowded and there was ample room to minimze tangles. Affordable, professional and clean. Professional filleting of fish was only $1 per fish. Healthy environment for families with children. 5 hours was plenty of time and the captain picked 3 good locations. Would definitely do it again! (Perhaps the all-day or Catalina) | ||||||

| I took my 4 grandkids from Seattle. (ages 12-16). The first spot had minimal fish, then the captain moved the boat and it was GREAT FISHING. The kids had a phenomenal time and I am nominated for Grand Parent of the Year. The deck hands were right there when we needed them everything from tangled lines to taking the fish off. THEY made it truly enjoyable. | ||||||

| The catamaran felt safe and yet we had quite a ride with the waves running about 4-6 feet. We didn't see any whales but quite a few dolphins. | ||||||

| The fish were delicious. Only thing we could think to improve the trip would be some benchs around to sit on. Long day to just stand. All in all GREAT DAY | ||||||

| We (my wife and I) have been on numerous Whale Watching trips aboard the Dana Pride and each one has been a thoroughly satisfying and wonderful experience. Excellent captain, crew and vessle -- top flight all the way. We've taken family and friends along and have never been disappointed. In fact, our granddaughter will be visting us from Omaha next week and is very excited about going out with us, especially after hearing about our most recent trip where we encountered mega-pods of dolphin and a blue whale. I've also been on several fishing charters out of Dana Wharf and would rate these excellent as well. | ||||||

| Never been out of Dana Point before, but will highly recommend using them again. Checked in with out any problems and waited in line to board. Once aboard the crew was extreamly helpful and polite. Once we arrived at the spot the captain decided we should fish from. We droped anchor and imediately brgan to catch fish. Even when I brought the fish aboard the crew was quick to remove the hook and get me back in the water. He also placed my fish in the gunny shack provided by the boat. The gunny sack was only 1 dollar, but the best dollar I'll ever spend, as amatter of fact the price of the 1/2 day boat was the best fishing for the price you will ever receive. | The money was well worth it and the 2 for 1 Tuesday was great. I had a great time with my grandson and he really enjoyed himself. The staff was very helpful and even though the boat was crowded there was always someone around to assist. | ||||||

| We celebrated our daughter's 42nd birthday with a Whale Watching trip out of Dana Point. She had always wanted to go, but there are at least three of us who have motion sickness. We took Dramamine - less drowsy type - and made it through even though the water was really choppy with a lot of whitecaps. We were just about to turn around and head back into the harbor when the crew spotted a blue baleen whale. So, we followed it around for about 45 minutes as it came up to breathe, and went down again, about every six minutes. Wish we could have seen a lot more of the whales, but had a really fun time with the one. Very interesting and my daughter LOVED IT! Thanks for the great trip. | ||||||

| If you're a fisherman, this is a recommended trip especially during the summer when the fish are really biting. Fun for all. If you are the least suseptable to motion sickness, medication is in order. | ||||||

| I will never go on a weekend 1/2 day PM trip out of Dana Wharf again. The trip seems to attract both small on large groups of obnoxius drunks, that can;t fish, curse continually and just ruin the day for everyone else. And the worst part is that neither the Captain or Crew do anything at all to even suggest that these folks at least curb their vulgariity. | ||||||

| You can rent gear that is fine to use with live bait, BUT virtually all the fish (and there were MANY fish) caught were caught with lures and cast out away from the boat. Get a cheeseburger from the galley, very good but messy so towel up. Take: a knife, needle nose pliers, and rags. | ||||||

| My group went out expecting bottom fishing not knowing we we only going for barracuda. It was fast paced and became frustrating to our family group from Colorado. My rented reel did not work well. My recommendation would be for the type of fishing (bottom or other) be given at the time reservations are made. Customers need to check their rented equipment before getting on the boat. | ||||||

| Shortly after leaving the harbor we entered a "superpod" of common dolphins, estimated at 3,000 to 4,000 strong. We stayed with the pod for the next 45 minutes as they darted and leapt around the boat. It was an amazing sight. | ||||||
