Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

Took my 15 year old son to fish for giant squid as he'd seen an article on a yahoo news page. It was freezing and windy, several people threw up, but we had a wonderful time!! Can't say enough nice things about the crew. All guys were patient with our inexperience, very helpful and enthusiastic. Definitely recommend.

It was great. reservations were easy, parking was abundant (530pm boat), Captain did a great job in horrible conditions to get us squid.

First time squid fishing, lots of fun, especially when you have plenty to catch.

We had rough seas and cold weather but captain and crew made sure everyone caught squid and had a great time. Awesome experience and a great value on the price.

Evenn though I have led many children on nature trips as a teacher inthe last 30 years, I learned a lot about the animals we saw and about how to communicate knowledge. The captain expressed his knowledge in a fun way. wanoderful.

We were lucky enough to observe a mother and her newborn baby on this whale watching trip. The captain's explanation of the whales we were observing and their migration habits was very helpful. Overall a very enjoyable cruise.

My husband and I took our 3 children ages 8, 5 and 1 on this whale watching cruise. Everyone had a great time. The boat captain was very knowledgable about the sea life we saw; my kids really enjoyed listening to the facts about the whales and their migration. We saw a mother whale with her newborn calf, and several seals. No dolphins though! :(

the captain kept up a commentary and seemed to be very knowledgeable about marine life, in particular whales. They have high success rate of finding whales because they track them as they travel down the coast. He found a whale from another boats spotting by going down the coast about thirty miles. H ethen spotted on his own an unreported mother and baby whale on the trip back. Because we were heading back he extended trip about 15 minutes for us to view the mother and baby. Check for internet coupons. Tuesday is usually half price. Buy tickets at least a few hours in advance on weekends and holidays as they do sometimes sell out. They have food, drinks and bathroom on board. Ship is clean. It is small ship so avoid this (and all whale tours) if you get seasick.

The Captain and crew were excellent. They were respectful to the life in the ocean and shared a lot of information about the wildlife we were fortunate to see (birds and marine life). I will definitely go again. We encountered several dolphin, sea otters and a few shy whales during our time out in the ocean. The Captain took him time let us take it all in.

We did not catch a ton keeper fish, but we had a great time nevertheless, it was so much fun. I would recomend.

We were very fortunate to have good weather and we were able to observe two grey whales. Crew was friendly and very informative and our guide made sure that we had the chance to watch these whales do what whales do :) Definitely plan to take this tour again to observe blue whales in the spring!

The crew was so knowledgable and fun. The was beautiful - couldn't have asked for a better experience. Saw some gray whales, the crew explained so much - not too crowded - absolutely I would recommend to family and friends.
