The fish were not biting but that happens sometimes- the crew, however, was determined to get us to a place that they were biting and they were helpful when it came to bagging fish and tying on hooks and sinkers- the only complaint is that I wish the boats were nonsmoking my wife has asthma and the smoke made light headed and sick-

I have lived in San Clemente for the last 27 years and have gone fishing out of Dana Point since the mid 70's. I was absolutely surprised to see Whales in Late June in local waters! What a terrific experience, I thought whales were only around in migration season

Th entire fishing trip was very well handled. They knew all the questions, and had reasonable, understandable responses to them. Got through the day with no issues at all because the folks that run the activity are so well prepared.

We were impressed with the boat, VERY clean. Left on time Crew showed great concern for the passengers by really trying to find a local whale (it moved out of the area, we saw no whales) Even without whales and with a gloomy day, we had alot of fun. The Marine Biologist was very informative too.

Had a very enjoyable afternoon of fishing and the deckhands were very helpful. If you got hung up, they would help you get free. And if you broke a line they would get you re-rigged and fishing again. When you caught a fish, they would help you get it un-hooked and measure it to see if it was a keeper, if not they would throw it back or if it was, put in your sack. It was also nice that they would clean and bag your fish as we returned to port. All in all, a very enjoyable afernoon of fishing. Bob Goodman Banning, CA

Deck hands were great! But the boat was too crowded to enjoy fishing. I would recommend a higher price per person and reduce the amount of anglers!

I took my 5 year old son fishing for the first time on this trip. While we both had a good time together and we were able to bond in a way that we have not before, the one thing that lacked was the fish. They were not bitting that day. I wish you could predict the fish bitting but you can't. All in all we enjoyed our day together and we will be doing it again and hopefully the fish decided to show up.

Had some relatives in from NY and thought we'd take them out to go whale watching. Although we did not see blue whales, we did see 100's of dolphins. It was a fantastic experience and I strongly recommend it. We have a 5 yr old girl and 2 yr old boy who had a blast throughout the 2 hour journey. Having a galley on board is great idea too. The boat was not crowded at all and the staff was very informed and open to speaking about what we were seeing, etc. Great times!
Fine for locals with their own tackle 1/2 Day and Twilight Fishing Trips

We participated in the 1/2 trip from 12-5pm and unfortuanetly it was an uneventful day. We had a group of about 9 in our party out of 25 total on the boat and the fishing was very poor. The boat seemed to cater to the everyday locals that had special tackle that allowed them to fish near the surface in the large kelp beds we were parked next too. The 3 fish that were caught (Small bass) in the 5 hour trip were caught by these locals using their specialized tackle. The other 95% of the boat was using pole/tackle rentals and forced to fish off the bottom catching absolutely nothing. At least we got 5 hours of sun.
