| I love fishing, and going to Dana Point is the best spot to do it. The crew is very nice, and the other fisherman on the boat are friendly and great to talk to. The only drawback is the price of beer, $3.50 for a can of coors light is a bit extreme. | ||||||

| Although we didn't see any whales, we did see two species of dolphins and some sea lions. It was a great time! | ||||||

| The captain and deck hands did a great job of taking care of us from start to finish. There was a wide variety of snacks and drinks available at reasonable prices. The deck hands were patient and very helpful throughout the afternoon. The live sardines were quite large and difficult to deal with. We did not get hardly any bites with that bait. Smaller sardines or maybe even anchovies would have helped us get more bites. We waited an extra hour to be first in line for the boat to get a good spot. Then we had to rotate around twice during the trip and lost our preferred spots. We would have preferred not to have to rotate since we waited extra to get our preferred spot on the rail. Overall we had a great time and would do it again. | ||||||

| I took my 88 year old father, 84 year old mother, 18 year old daughter, and my sister-in-law. There was something for all to enjoy. The only thing that surprised me was that there was no food service. I was really happy that we bought sandwiches before we boarded. All in all, i would highly recommend the trip. | I am local to Dana Point area and have been thinking about visiting the whale watch cruise for quite sometime, until recently. My in-laws were visiting us from abroad and I decided this trip would be cool one. Yes in deed, it turned out to be very nice trip after all. Since we went on weekday, there wasn't much crowd in the boat(at 15-20). The captain took us to the area where whale sightings have been reported that day. On the way there, we saw thousands of dolphins and its really cool to watch them show-off their skills in front of the crusie. Captain was very well knowledgeble on the whale location and was quick in turning the boat around to get closer to the whales. We spotted about 6 whales that dy in a span 0f 45 minutes. Great time and very relaxed atmosphere. Will surely take my brother and family from the east coase, again in August. | ||||||

| This was not a great experience. There were too many people on the boat. It was shoulder to shoulder. There was not much help from the deck hands if any. Someone stole my fish out of my bag. The boat was small. The cook was the nicest employee and was really helpful. Other than him, it was not a good trip. | ||||||

| The staff was super friendly and knowledgable. The captain gave us a great tour and provided us with grerat info about where we were and what we may see. Although we didn't see any whales, we'd do it again and highly recommend it to others. | ||||||

| We had a great time on the trip even though we weren't very successful in the catch department. Our crew on the Dana Pride was great. They were fun, friendly, and very helpful. My husband went back for another trip the next day and is taking another friend for a trip in a few days. A fun day! | ||||||

| I know that no company can guarantee to see any whales, but i still hoped to see at least one. On the last whale watching trip I took they would stop the boat, shut off the engine, stick into the water some kind of tube with a flare at the end, and a microphone in it, i guess to amplify any sounds that might be heard. I saw 5 whales when they used that technique. This company didn't do that. They just roamed around, or so it seemed. We saw TONS of dolphins, but that's not what I went out to see. Aside from the lack of whales, the boat was nice, the staff were nice. I had no other issues. | ||||||

Boat late to leave - Parking problems

| 12:00 boat did not leave untill 1:00 because according to captain customers could not find parking. There seems to be a problem with more spots on the charter boats than parking spots in the sportfishing lot that is supposed to be reserved for fishermen. If they are going to cut the 5 hour trip short to wait on late people to park everbody might just as well of parked in the 4 hour max. spaces and saved room for the late comers in the reserved lot. I have never been to any other function that was delayed for so long waiting on late people. As @ airports the tickets said to be there 45 min. early, being we waited untill 1:00 that means people were looking for parking for 1 hour and 45 minutes, I think not? Do the folks that were on time a favor and give them what they paid for. Fishing and boat crew were OK as soon as we got out of the harbor. | ||||||

| The weather was great...sunny but not hot. However the fishing was cold. The captain commented early in the trip that the wind had really picked up the night before and had dropped the water temperature. He tried several spots without success. Guess I'll just have to go back when the water heats up. | ||||||
