Great Trip Just to Get On The Water Catamaran Adventure Cruises

We enjoyed our trip on the Catamaran. I believe the boat is fairly new and it showed. The guys running the tour were nice and made every effort to make the trip worthwhile. A whale had been spotted in the area, but it did not show itself on our trip. We did see plenty of dolphins, which were quite entertaining. We went with the expectation of only seeing water, so spotting anything was a bonus. We happened to be passing through on half price Tuesday, and it was definitely worth that. I would probably hesitate at the full price, but there are not many opportunities to get on the ocean in central Illinois!

This was my 10 yr old son's first time fishing.....and I have VERY LITTLE experience so, I was concerned. But EVERYONE was very helpful, attentive and knowledgeable! Even other fisherman checked on us to see how we were doing. Great people, Great Fun...and my son caught SEVERAL FISH....including one keeper. We WILL be back.

It was a hot day with little fish bites. But that's fishing, no guarantee you're going to catch anything. A bit crowded but I'll go again.

ANYONE CONSIDERING THE OCEAN ADVENTURES TOURS FROM MORNING OR EVENING DEPARTATIONS, ARE SPECTACULAR. I JUST WENT ON MY ADVENTURE CRUISE WITH MY FAMILY 7-20-09 AND SAW A BLUE WHALE!! IT WAS DEFINATELY WONDERFUL TO ENJOY ALONG WITH THE FAMILY, WE ALSO SAW MANY OF THE RISSO DOLPHINS AND JUST GORGEOUS PODS OF OTHER DOLPHINS. VERY INFORMATIONAL ALSO, YOU ARE EDUCATED EVERY STEP OF THE WAY WITH THE CAPTAIN IN CHARGE OF SPEAKING, AND A NICE CREW TO SERVE YOU. VERY EXCITING BEING SO CLOSE TO THE SIGHTS OF ACTION OFF THE BOAT, WHICH WAS ALSO BEAUTIFUL I MIGHT ADD. EVERY ONE ON THE BOAT HAD PLENTY OF ROOM TO WATCH AND ENJOY IN THEIR OWN SPACE ON ALL SIDES OF THE BOAT WHETHER YOU CHOOSE WHALE WATCHING, FISHING OR EVENING OCEAN ADVENTURES YOU WILL SURELY ENJOY YOURSELF WITH FAMILY OR ON A ROMANTIC CRUISE, AND EVEN ALONE, WE MET VERY NICE STRANGERS

This was a great experience. Our boat captain was very knowledgable about the local marine life we saw and told us about them as we went along. We had common dolphins swimming around our boat and playing in our wake, and then we went on to see some bigger dolphins (Risso) that looked more like small whales. The best part was that we ended up finding the blue whale they'd seen earlier that day! This has to be one of the best boat cruise deals around!

We had a wonderful time on the cruise. I especially loved the fact that there were not so many people on board - everyone could get right on the railing to see the whales and dolphins. Our captain was great - he did a fantastic job finding whales and dolphins for us to view as well as providing us with interesting narration. I am looking forward to another trip in the near future!

Saw Blue Whales Catamaran Adventure Cruises

Such a rare treat to see two blue whales! The crew did a fantastic job finding them and educating us about them. We were also very lucky to see a pod of Risso's dolphins! A very lucky day indeed!
Fishing is fishing. 1/2 Day and Twilight Fishing Trips

Our group was most of the male side of a wedding party and some relatives (all male), 2 were young boys who had never been fishing before. Overall it was a fun trip. I only got a couple bites, and my sons never got a nibble, so they got bored and tired early. I happened to be stationed at the bow, and it seems all the good activity was off the very crowded stern. I believe the captain was doing a good job finding fish, as there were some keepers brought on board, but all from the rear. The boat was crowded (60) people so not everyone could get to the stern. We had a lot of tangled lines due to the crowding. Most of the fish I saw were too small to keep, but there were a lot of them. I kind of expected fishing is fishing, you throw a line in and never get a bite while a person right next to you seems to get all the fish. I guess the law of averages says, the more times you throw the line in the water, the better the chance at catching the big one. The crew was knowledgeable and helpful and it made for a pleasant trip. They have a galley so food and drinks are not an issue. I would do this trip again, maybe have better luck next time.

I took my son (8yrs) fishing on the 1/2 day and we had a blast. Make sure you bring some dramamine if you get sea sick and sun screen. The deck hands were great, they were running around getting fish off the lines, helping with tangled lines or setting up the lines to fish. The fishing was ok (because a seal came in and scared the fish away just when they started biting). You will stop at about 2-3 different spots to fish depending on how the fishing is. But overall it was a great trip. Would recommended to anyone that has just started or does not have time for the whole day trips.

This is where my boys and I connect. This is where we are taking away memories that are never forgotten. At 6 and 10, both my sons know how to land their catch. The fish and the good times are plenty. The Captain and crew of the "Clemente" really make it their job to ensure their guests are accommodated. The crew has been instrumental in helping my two boys become two young "fishermen" with their expertise and caring approach. I found it odd that when reading the daily catchs on line that it shows a great deal of fish being caught, but then on the boat few fish were caught and the captain made a statement that it has really been slow lately! Another statement from the captain made while sitting at the dock was "we are running late this morning" everyone on the boat paid for 5 hours of fishing and we were all cut short. We left late and arrived back on time. To make things worse not very many fish were caught and condition were good.

This operation books too many people to make it truely enjoyable. The boat was elbow to elbow from bow to stern. but as they say, the worst day of fishing is better than the best day of work and we did catch some fish and the deckhands were helpful. I'm sure I will go again, but never again on the weekend unless they limit their load.
