Horrible Experience 1/2 Day and Twilight Fishing Trips

Hardly any of the fish brought on board were big enough to keep. The fish that were kept were small and not what any of us would have expected from an ocean fishing experience. Crew was less than helpful. The only positive thing I can say about the whole trip was the great cheesburgers..... I would deffinetly not recommend this trip to anyone!!!!!!

Wow, what a beautiful day aboard the OC Adventure! Calm seas and a beautiful power catamaran that took us out to sea where we were treated to close up views of dolphin - they come right over to the boat - and huge fin whales. Knowledgable crew, timely departure and return, and a nice clean boat made the trip just right! Would highly recommend this mid-week fun to do trip.

This has been one of the best local cruises’ I have taken in quite awhile! The staff was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about the animals we came upon, which made it a great experience for the kids. On a more romantic note, the scenic views coupled with the fresh – ocean air made for an enjoyable trip for my friend, and me especially since I had a few extra bucks in my pocket due to the cruise being so affordable, sweet.

This was a great two hour cruise with a great crew. The crew worked very hard at finding marine mammals to view. We found a large group of dolphins that were a great joy to view.

It's always a pleasure to go out on the Twighlight trip with Dana Wharf Sportfishing. 4 hours is a perfect amount of time with children and/or folks trying out fishing for the first time. It's short enough that if it's not working out or you're getting seasick you'll be back soon enough but it's long enough to get some real fishing done. I've done this trip several times now (I think that this was my fourth) and for the first time my son fished the entire time instead of playing with the bait fish in the bait tank for the last part of the trip. He was a fisherman instead of a fisherman's son. We'll be thinking about a longer trip now but will still go out on this once in a while with newbies. The crew is great. The galley is great. You don't have to get up early in the morning to go. I recommend it.

The 5 hour fishing trip run by Dana Wharf is very well organized and is a real fun day. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and attentive. They provide more than enough live bait for the whole day of fishing. Although we did not catch much fish due to the early time of the year it was still a fun trip and we did see a lot of marine wildlife like sea lions and a whale. Everyone in my group is interested in doing this fishing trip again.

We saw 2 groups of dolphins on our trip, bottle nose dolphins that weren't as playful, and common dolphins that were more into the bow ridin :) The marine biologist on our boat was very friendly and knowledgeable, answered all our questions. I know the group tried to find some whales, but we were out of luck. Still, very enjoyable trip and would highly recommend it to others.

94th Birthday 1/2 Day and Twilight Fishing Trips

My father-in-law told me that the only thing he wanted for his 94th birthday was to go ocean fishing, so my brother-in-law and I obliged. It was a wonderful day of fishing, and he caught a Sand Bass. The crew was knowledgeable, energetic, polite and helpful, and we look forward to going again on his 95th, if not before. Highly recommend this half day trip. Dana Wharf has a great website, easy to find location and parking, great captains and crews, and a beautiful coastline to enjoy, whether the fish are biting or not!

My friends and myself really enjoyed the whale watching trip. We didn't exactly see any whales but we saw a whole swarm of dophins and other sea life. I'm hoping in the future we could possibly ride the dophins are take turns driving the boat. I was also thinking that maybe you guys can invest in an underwater submarine so we can actually go down below, just some ideas to help improve the experience. We were able to get lots of pictures and were able to share them with friends and family.

We saw lots of dolphins but no whales. It is my understanding that you may be stretching the time that whales are in the area and the likelihood of seeimg them this time of year is very low. To my knowledge no one on your tours saw them that day. Perhaps you should reconsider your policy to avoid negative feeback to potential customers.

Went on the 1/2 day fishing trip with my family. Bought 5 tickets for us. Me and my wife just helped the kids for the most part. Our kids couldn't even fish without getting pushed out of the way by other fisherman. Way overbooked. I expected it to be crowded considering it was half price tuesday, but it was a little ridiculous. Fishing was pretty good and nice fishing crew, but too many people.

We had an excellent time on the water. The captain and the whole crew were friendly and helpful to everybody. Our 1/2 day fishing experience included catching sculpin, rock fish, macerrel, a variety of bass, one guy caught an eel, I myself caught a crab. So all-n-all our friends and family would highly recommend this activity to anyone who wants to have a great time for a good price!!!

3rd time fishing w/ dana wharf. 3rd time no fish caught.i normally catch fish on others (newport landing) i guess you get what you pay for.thanks for sitting in spots w/ no fish. thank you, very disappointed fisherman. .my children were unable to use that experienced reel. you really expect a first timmer to use it. ya right.thanks for a great 5 hour cruise.never again.paul alcantar
