Several species of Dolphin were out en masse the day of our trip.
Boat late to leave - Parking problems 1/2 Day and Twilight Fishing Trips

12:00 boat did not leave untill 1:00 because according to captain customers could not find parking. There seems to be a problem with more spots on the charter boats than parking spots in the sportfishing lot that is supposed to be reserved for fishermen. If they are going to cut the 5 hour trip short to wait on late people to park everbody might just as well of parked in the 4 hour max. spaces and saved room for the late comers in the reserved lot. I have never been to any other function that was delayed for so long waiting on late people. As @ airports the tickets said to be there 45 min. early, being we waited untill 1:00 that means people were looking for parking for 1 hour and 45 minutes, I think not? Do the folks that were on time a favor and give them what they paid for. Fishing and boat crew were OK as soon as we got out of the harbor.

Great experience for us non fisherman. The staff was right there to help us when we caught a fish as we had no equipment. It was the deep sea fishing experience I was hoping to have for our family with 3 kids, 10, 15, & 17. Turk's for dinner afterwards was excellent too!

Our family took the evening trip on the Dana Pride, a very roomy and clean boat with plenty of viewing room. Unfortunately we did not find whales on our trip, but ran with several pods with hundreds of common dolphins. My 6 year old daughter was thrilled for the entire trip and the experience was one well worth the price of admission...crew was very nice and helpful, explaining what we were seeing at every step of the way.

We went on the 5 hour fishing trip on a Tuesday so the cost was very reasonable . Not sure the total number of people fishing when we went. Two of my sons each caught a bass and three of us didn't catch anything. The boat was crowded and lines did get tangled. The crew was very quick and curteous to untangle the lines. Also, they were very willing to offer advice and answer any questions. The hamburgers on board were very good! I would recommend Dana Wharf Sport Fishing because the staff on the boat does everything they can to help you catch fish. If you don't catch fish, it's because the fish are not bitting, or you are not following their instructions.

My 13 year old son and I had a Great time, the crew was very helpful, and attentive. The other visitors on the boat were all plesant, this was our second trip from here, the first one we caught a lot of fish this time we were not as lucky. Both times were a Great time!

The weather was great...sunny but not hot. However the fishing was cold. The captain commented early in the trip that the wind had really picked up the night before and had dropped the water temperature. He tried several spots without success. Guess I'll just have to go back when the water heats up.

Went on the 1/2 day fishing boat Sum Fun. There must have been 40 anglers and only 5 fish caught. The skipper did not put us on any fish. We fished the same kelp bed twice. I would not recommend this fishing outfit.

If you have ever had the urge to ocean fish, but are intimidated because you have never done it before or have only had a couple of experiences, or are afraid of the cost, this is the trip for you. The crew is patient, not arrogant, and very knowledgeable. They will help you, the kids, the wife, etc. rig your line, provide the right bait, unhook your fish, clean and filet it, all for under $40.00 per person, not including tip. The boats are clean, the food is good and the bathrooms are also clean. The half day boat only is out 5 hours, about the attention span of young children. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the least crowded usually. Go and have a ball.

My son and I had not been fishing in years. This was great fun. Caught fish without most of the work and hassle of clean and unhooking them. It was also a beautiful day on the water. The crew was on their toes helping everyone and we had absolutely no issues. Next time we are going out on the 3/4 day boat. The half was too short.

We had a party of seven people for the fishing trip. Getting 7 people ready to go and be on time can be a real challenge. We were late and DanaWharf held the fishing boat for us. The crew on board, Eric, Brian & Ben were terrific. My wife let her reel go a few times and the guys were Johnny on the spot to help her with her tangled mess. My wife son, the birthday boy, had a broken wrist with a cast on. Each time he needed new bait, again the crew was there to help him out. I would highly recommend a fishing trip with this company. I loved it, Morgan the Marine Biologist, the Catamaran, I was able to relax, I even took my shoes off. Everyone was respectful, helpful and polite. I did not want to come back to shore. Thank you to all the employees for making it so wonderful. I had to hold back tears when the dolphins were right at the front of the Catamaran riding along with us. It was a dream, that I always wanted to experience.
