Slow-paced, but educational Catamaran Adventure Cruises

We enjoyed the trip, but it is definitely an "eco-tour" as opposed to a "good times tour." The tour took us into a pod of dolphins, which were really fun to watch, then the captain spotted a HUGE blue whale and we hung out near the whale and watched it breach and dive, breach and dive, breach and dive (you get the picture...) It was amazing, but 45 min. watching one whale, all the while bobbing in the swells, was a bit much. The little girl next to me "lost her lunch" overboard. Personally, I would have preferred moving on after seeing the whale for a short while (you can only see a tiny portion of the whale's back) and finding some more dolphins. They seem to want to entertain you! Anyway, if you have whale enthusiasts, go on this tour. If you are just looking for a fun ride or if you have a tendency toward sea-sickness, I'd not advise it.

The crew smoked non-stopped! I couldn't really enjoy fishing when i had to move around avoiding the smoke, even when they were helping you w/ the fish, they smoked. Wish there was a non-smoking boat. Would go again if there was.

Th entire fishing trip was very well handled. They knew all the questions, and had reasonable, understandable responses to them. Got through the day with no issues at all because the folks that run the activity are so well prepared.

I invited my Great Granddaughter to go fishing (9Yrs. old.) We both had a great time.Your crew were very helpful and actually the other guests were also friendly and helpful. My Great Granddaughter now knows how to bait the hook! She of course would love to go again. Thank you for a wonderful day.
Reel Fun is disgrace for family activities 1/2 Day and Twilight Fishing Trips

Dear Sir/Madam, The above mentioned trip which was advertised as a fishing trip where children can join in for free (at the 12.45 time) is certainly not suitable for children if the Reel Fun is used. There is no shade, no seating, the food was severly under cooked and it's certainly not geared towards providing an enjoyable experience for children. We were lucky as most of the time my children were asleep. It is only geared for fishing enthusiasts who don't mind the above mentioned lack of comfort. However, since the same price is charged for this boat as all other boats that address and provide the items lacking, the Reel Fun should either be retired, or not be used for family trips at all, and the ticket price for those individuals who want to use this boat should drastically be reduced. Loved having a marine biologist on board. I appreciated them taking the time to locate the pod of dolphins so we had an extra exciting few hours at sea. Great staff too.

I've lived in Southern California most of my adult life, yet learned things about local sealife that I'd never heard. We saw more dolphins than I could imagine, and more whales than I was expecting or hoping for. The captain was very experienced and informative. I plan on taking my grandson this week.

We were impressed with the boat, VERY clean. Left on time Crew showed great concern for the passengers by really trying to find a local whale (it moved out of the area, we saw no whales) Even without whales and with a gloomy day, we had alot of fun. The Marine Biologist was very informative too.

We were on the Reel Fun 1/2 day fishing on Saturday June 20, 2009. We had a great time. The guys on the boat helped all of us that needed help. Very attentive to our needs. We were a family of six. Ages 17 yrs old - 45. Caught several fish. We will be back!! Very fun day!!

Had a very enjoyable afternoon of fishing and the deckhands were very helpful. If you got hung up, they would help you get free. And if you broke a line they would get you re-rigged and fishing again. When you caught a fish, they would help you get it un-hooked and measure it to see if it was a keeper, if not they would throw it back or if it was, put in your sack. It was also nice that they would clean and bag your fish as we returned to port. All in all, a very enjoyable afernoon of fishing. Bob Goodman Banning, CA

We're pretty seasoned whale watchers (B.C., Mass., Alaska . . . ) and didn't have our expectations met. There was no narration at any point on the trip out to see the whales. We did see some blue whales, but went out so far to see them that we had very little time to spend watching them. There was narration during the watch part, but only one little bit on the way back when we came across some sea lions sleeping on a buoy. Would have been nice to know as we went along where we were geographically (Newport Beach, Malibu?).

Deck hands were great! But the boat was too crowded to enjoy fishing. I would recommend a higher price per person and reduce the amount of anglers!
