The morning had a chill in the air but I was so excited about my whale watching cruise! My friend and I arrived and waited patiently to board. The crew was wonderful. We headed out...the tour was not very crowded (guess there are lots of sleepy heads in OC). We spent 2 incredible hours on the ocean. I find peace and tranquility there...Captain Jack was very informative and I learned quite a bit about those magnificent creatures! We found a whale that we were able to follow for 45 minutes and it was awe-inspiring. I wish I could go every week...I truly believe the whales and dolphins are magical creatures! I would recommend this cruise to all! THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL BEGINNING TO MY WEEKEND!

The 2 hours spent on the whale watching boat were very fun! The ocean was calm, the crew experienced, friendly and professional. Though we ultimately did not see any whales, we did receive a coupon to go back out again! I would recommend this activity to my friends!

This was a very fun two-hour cruise, although we didn't see any whales or dolphins. The crew gave us passes to come back ANYTIME as promised and we will defintely be back! The boat was great and not too full, the only time someone in our group felt sea sick was when they stopped for a few minutes to see if the whale would surface. Great trip for a group of friends- definitely recommended!

The 10:00 tour was not crowded so allowed easy viewing. We saw several whales. I love whale watching so can never have a bad time.

Our boat went out at noon on 3/12/10 & we were very lucky to see several fin whales & I was able to snap a photo. One of the crew said the photo only showed about 1/3 of the whale. He estimated that it was probably 75 feet long & weighed 750 tons - Wow - that was a truly awesome adventure. During my previous whale watching event a few years ago, we saw lots of dolphins jumping & swimming alongside our boat, but no whales.

Our 2 hour trip was an extremely pleasant, with invigorating sea air and watching the ocean with plentiful sea life. Although no whales were seen, we did see plenty of sea lions and dolphins. I was very impressed by the curteous crew and for giving us an opportunity to return so that we may yet get to see whales.

Great way to see the coast

We were boarded on time - and the boat was very spacious...the crew told folks where to stand to see whales and dolphins, and what to expect as far as variety. So off we went. There were dolphins, but the whales were elsewhere that morning. However, we got a great view of the coast from Dana Point down to probably San Clemente from the water. Sea lions were hunkered down on a harbor buoy, and they were fun to watch as they snuggled together in the sun. All in all, it was a wonderful morning - low key and friendly - and I would definitely go again.

My daughter and I really enjoyed the Grey Whale Tour. The whales eluded us but we had a great time watching the dolphins. The equipment and crew were first rate. Really good value for the cost - especially in Southern California. Do it!

Great experience! We actually went out twice, due to left over wind conditions the first day. The captains on both boats were friendly, informative and you could tell they love what they do. Although we didn't see any whales either time we went out (which was disappointing)the scenary was fabulous. We did see some dolphins the second day and that was cool. This was the first time 3 of the 4 of us had been out on a boat like this and it was very nice. I would do it again if I return to California in the future.

OUr first day was canceled because of high winds- so next day tried again. GOt on the boat but it was windy and chilly, no whales . . . . sea lions, dolphins, but no whales. WE had 9 in our group and 3 of us barfed!. Hmmmmm. Probably wouldnt go again, although the crew was friendly and informative and gave us tickets to come back again any time and try to see the whales but all in all. . . . wouldn't do it again.

A preventable disaster
Whale Watching in Gray Whale Season (Dec - Apr)

Our whale watching was cancelled due to wind and rescheduled for the next day. We arrived with great expectations but what we got was sick due to the rough waters reculting from continued wind. Granted the wind was much lighter than the day before but cauised problems even at the lower force. We all took a dramamine just in case. In hind sight we may have been better served by taking more. Four of our group vomited violently while the rest of the group turned green. Not a single whale was spotted. The tour group gave us vouchers to some aback and try again free of charge which would have sufficed if we lived near by but we don't and so we spent our money for nothing. Leah Ann Manning
