Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

The instructions from Dana Warf were clear and easy to follow, from the driving directions to what to do when you arrive. Easy to buy tickets on Zerve, too. Boats were clean, people were very friendly and professional. Also, the food in the galley was tasty, and not over-priced. (for example, Hot dogs were $1.50). If you had fun, be sure and drop a bill in the tip jar at the top of the ramp when you're getting off of the boat. After the whale watching excursion, we went to the Ocean institute which is right there at the harbor, and spent the day. Neat place, high school and college students studying marine biology work there and are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Took the guided tour (Jena was our guide) out to the tidepools and had a blast exploring and discovering a ton of tiny sea creatures. I would recommend this trip to anyone, and plan to do it again next year. May visit again this summer as well. We live in the California desert, and will be taking out of state visitors there to experience the Southern California beach and maybe a boat ride on the ocean.

I had a very good experience using Zerve & a great time at Dana Wharf. The staff was very helpful and I will be planning another trip with them.

Excellent captains who made every effort to find whales and gave us a ticket to use in future because no whales were sited.

Very enjoyable out on the sea and watching the sunset while fishing. My wife and I were like two kids anticipating for a bite. The crew aboard were very helpful in removing fish from our line and cleaning our fish. Excellent service. It was very enjoyable and recommend everyone should try this once. Dan & Kim

The size of the fish caught were barely legal. More encouragement by all to conserve and let our sportfish grow larger and more abundant would keep this wonderful sport ongoing.

While the weather was overcast and windy, it was still worth standing on the bow of the boat to watch the common dolphin playing along side the boat and the whale breach near by. The captain did an excellent job of circling so the 40-50 dolphins could play in front, beside, under and behind the boat for 10-15 mintes. Many opportunities for photos and videos. At the same time, his informational talk was interesting without being imposing. He waited over 30 minutes for us to see the whale breach 3 or 4 times before we had to speed back in order to not delay the next group. The captain's knowledge of marine life and the area was impressive and entertaining. A great value and highly recommended for families with kids of all ages.

It was a beautiful sunny day, although chilly. Warm clothing is recommended. We unfortunately did not see any whales, but did see a huge pod of dolphins that swam with the boat for quite a while. This made it all worthwhile. We would definately go out again!

I took my son (12) and daughter (8) on the early morning trip and we all had a great time. The crew were very friendly and helpful. There is lots to eat and drink offered on board but, as you would expect, it was rather expensive. Bring along your own picnic lunch and save some money. I would highly recommend this as a great family outing.

I was nice i enjoyed the half day but i am looking forward to the 3/4 i just have to rechedule my day. I was wondering if you sold pile worms there in the shop thanks Daniel

We all had a great time. The skipper and crew were very efficient, knowledgable and accomodating. We plan to go again in a few weeks.

the weather was great and the boat ride was as well. We saw a mother and little one (whale) and a large pod of dalphins. It was done well with a great deal of info on the animals.

THE WHALES ARE AMAZING. With the ocean in our backyard, we sometimes forget what lies within. I highly recommend you take advantage of what's given to us.
