Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

We had a great time did not see any whales but we saw quite a few dolphins. My seven year old grandson really enjoyed it.

We were a group of 6, and went on the Catamaran during the Whale Festival. While we didn't spot any whales, we saw a megapod of dolphin, which was pretty remarkable. The people on the ship are very friendly and informative. The ocean was calm the day we went making it even more enjoyable to be on the water. If you go, keep in mind that regardless of temperature on shore, it's always chilly and windy on the water.

This was an incredible experience. The crew was so wonderful in their explanation of what was happening. On our trip we were not able to spot a whale, but I have never seen so many dolphins in my whole life (all added together even). Must do event!!!

We have no luck catching sights of whales migrating athough its supposed to be the season!. The Captain of the Boat was doing his best and has prolonged stay to hopefully get all of us on the Boat to catch glimpses of Whales. At the last few minutes, saw surface of a grey whale briefly, before having to head back to shore - A Singaporean Tourist

I took my 7 year old twins and they loved it!

On Saturday I went out on the Dana Pride with my dad. When we got on the boat the first thing we did was order B.L.T.'s which I recommend they are amazing I would go on the boat just for them. Then the boat went to get bait the little anchovy's and the bigger sardines.The fishing though was pretty good not the best, but good. The first spot we tried I caught a fish to small to keep, but the next one was big enough to keep. The cook is very nice on the Dana Pride and I enjoyed talking to him. Their was some fun on the Dana Pride somebody caught a Thresher shark it took like 30 minutes, but it was very cool to see and the crew let everybody see it I highly recommend this boat. Over all this trip was amazing and my best one yet the food was great the service was and I just really enjoyed it. It was an amazing trip and I would recommend this boat to everyone.

For me and my wife really catching a fish would have just been a bonus. We got to see a seal, dolphins. pelicans, which I mite say were a little anoying. But without them it would take away from the experience. Just being on the on the ocean was fun for us. The captian got the anchor stuck and watching the crew try and correct that, was interesting. As for the crew of the boat I dont believe I have seen a more nice and helpful group in a long while. Especially for california. Im from ohio, and that kind of politeness and service is what you see on fishing tours on Lake Erie not off the cost of California. For this reason my wife and I will go back. we got to see some people catch some fish, and that was exciting. Being on the ocean was as equally exciting. my wife liked the kelp she said it was pretty. It was just a fun 5 hrs and I plan to go back in the near future. I will be going on the longer trip though this time. The couple we went with said they go to 100+ft and that is were the wife and I want to go next. So we are looking at the 3/4 day trip.next. andyways this was an enjoyable experience for us we are older couple but had a blast. coodoos to the captian and the crew. we will see you next time... Well, my trip was one of those unfortunate outings where we didn't see any dolphins or whales. A rarity to be sure. Thankfully the crew was very good about pointing out other things of interest to make the outing enjoyable. And, because we didn't see any dolphins or whales we were given a whale check which is good until the end of time. All we have to do is come back and we get another outing FOR FREE. So yeah, I think while the trip was a bit disappointing the company is very good in making sure that their customers are happy. Oh, and the food on the ship is actually VERY TASTY. Did not expect that. Good job!

I went with my adult son and daughter, son in law and 2 grandchildren. We all had a great time and saw many whales and dolphins. We will be taking this trip again soon. Wwe had such a good time.

I took two teenage nieces (15 & 17) visiting from MI on this Whale Watching adventure. They absolutely loved being on a boat in the harbor and seeing the dolphins so close they could almost touch them. We were all delighted to see the whales, especially the mother and calf. A seal popped his head out of wave quite unexpectedly and gave us all a good chuckle. My nieces were quite excited by this activity and besides enjoying it myself, it heightened the experience to be able to share it with my nieces. The crew was very friendly, polite, and knowledgable.

Just going out on the water was great however the crew were wonderful and entertaining which made it even better. The weather became a little blustery but our guide and narrator was so entertaining that we didn't care. We were unable to see a whale on our trip but we found a feeding frenzy of "simple dolphins". There were probably thirty of them swimming with out boat and darting in an out of the water eating on the Krill that was present. It was an awesome reminder of this beautiful planet we live on. When I came back to land I am determined to make this a bi-weekly or at least monthly experience. To wonderful not to enjoy.

My son attended a half day fishing trip for his good buddies birthday. The kids had a total blast as did the parents. The age ranges from 9 years old - 40 years old, everyone loved it.

CHRIS AND HIS CREW WERE AWESOME..LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF OUR ADVENTURE..I THINK WE HAD ABOUT 15 SIGHTINGS OF BLUE WHALES..ONE SURFACED 5 FEET FROM THE BOAT AND GOT EVERYONE WET... I WILL BE BACK WITH ALL MY FRIENDS .. A MUST SEE IF VISITING DANA POINT CINDY JETT
