Enjoyed the ride and observing sealife. Captain seemed very knowledgeable and the crew was professional and friendly. Unfortunately the whales didn't want to come up much above the surface that day but we did see them!

Fun but too many people
Sun, Mar 16  12:45 PM brian1y Male 30-39 Local Group of Friends
It was fun. But there were so many people, and so little space that lines were tangled every few minutes, and there wasn't a chance to cast or do anything other than just drop the hook straight down.

Whales, whales ~~ everywhere whales!
Wed, Mar 12  12:00 PM JamesPeeler Male 70+ Local Group of Friends
I never saw so many whales in all my life ~~ all at one time. Wow. They were called False Killer Whales and hardly ever seen here at the coastline of Dana Point. Literally hundreds of them.....at least that's what it seemed like. It didn't matter where you looked, there they were, not just one or two, but four, five, eight, ten, swimming together alongside the boat, in front and in back, swimming in unison everywhere! I even saw one "fluke" out of the water. It was fantastic. We had a couple with us from Kitali, Kenya, Africa and they were awe struck. Thank you, Captain Dave.

Great trip - saw whales and dolphins
Mon, Mar 10  2:30 PM ESchreiber Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Dana Wharf whale-watching trip. The captain went out of his way to make certain we saw both whales and dolphins. When he located a large pod of whales, he kept the boat with them, giving those on board ample time to watch and take photos. He brought us right to the edge of the pod, so that the dolphin were literally beside and under the boat. Later he spotted two Minke whales, an unusual species for southern California. One of them breached four times, a rare occurrence, but great for photos. On the return trip, the captain pointed out a grey whale to us. He attempted to bring the boat to where the whale might breach, but the whale stayed submerged. The captain kept the boat out at sea an extra half hour in hopes we would see more grey whales. We were thrilled to see the whales that we did. It was clear the Dana Point crew wants their passengers to have a good experience. We did.
