Terrific trip--would recommend it

I haven't gone fishing for a few years. I liked that fact that I could purchase on line ahead of time, making less stress in the morning on 'how early should I get there, is there going to be a long line" It was very efficient and easy.

This is an awesome ocean experience! We saw dolphins and Minke Whales!! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to see ocean mammals up close!! We will return again next year!! The ocean line is very accommodating and the crew are fantastic! This adventure was the highlight of our vacation in California!!

This is a good operation if you are looking for some fun fishing. The boats are squared away. The crews are decent and they do their best to put you where the fish are. I have been on 3 of these trips over the last 3 years. If you are looking for a short 1/2 day deep sea fishing outing this is a good deal and I would recomend it. The fishing is hit or miss, but that is what it is.

We (4of us) booked a twilight fishing trip on a friday evening. It was expected to go a little further out of the harbor, but we went only about a mile from shore. The captain took us to three different locations with very little success. It was interesting to find out that the few fish being caught were much smaller. So the bait we were using should have been much smaller. We didn't find that out until the last spot we dropped our lines. There was 57 people on the boat with 4 crew members including the captain. There was only going to be 44 but a few more were allowed on the boat. It was a little crowded but to be expected... so lines got tangled about half the time. Then because we were fishing so close to shore it was a little more difficult keeping your bait on the hook and from being eaten by the birds. I ended up catching a pelican. It flew off with my hook & bait then broke my line . I would probably go on a full day trip instead next time if you're more interested in catching something besides a bird and smaller fish. Otherwise, it was a relaxing three hour tour close to shore with very well used rented rod & reel. I would not rent them again. If you are a more serious fishermen then bring your own gear. But it was fun and the ocean was calmer close to shore.

We appreciated the efforts by the crew to find the whales especially when it looked like we wouldn't see any that day. The crew went further on the excursion than they normally would. Also, the guide gave lots of information on the ocean life we saw. Thanks for a great trip.

We were disappointed as we did not see anything. It was cool and rainy and the crew did their best to find signs of life. Turned into a two hour boat ride only. The company offered everyone another free ride within a year as long as we kept our ticket and called prior to coming to the dock to make sure they were not full. This was a very nice gesture as we did not expect it. We knew going in that this type of venture is a risk. The crew was friendly and everything ran on time. Although disappointed that we did not see anything, I feel the company did a great job trying to rectify that. It was a nice surprise. It was our last day so it did us no good. I would have been more upset had I paid full price.

Id NEVER do that again. We stayed so close to the shore, that we couldn't get away from the pelicans, seals and dolphin. Needless to say, the only thing caught were the pelicans. It was quite sad too see all theses birds with hooks and lures stuck in their little pea brained heads. From now on, it's only full day boat fishing trips for me!

It was a nice outing. We only saw dolphins but that was fun and the kids enjoyed it.

Great trip with knowledgable crew. Saw whales and learned a lot.

Zerve was a great way to go to have tiks ready when you arrive. Fishing stunk that day.

We were very luck to see a Blue Whale . The captain was great on informing us with details.

I've been fishing for decades now and the Dana Wharf crews rock! This trip I was aboard the Reel Fun and I had a blast. Fish were slow but the bite was sure. I was able to toss my worries overboard and reel in some fun times. I would recommend going out to anyone!

No whales but plenty of other mammals.

THE CREW WERE GREAT VERY HELPFUL AND NICE TO THE YOUNGER PEOPLE THAT NEEDED THE MOST HELP, FOOD FROM GALLY WAS EXCELLENT.
