| The trip was pretty much like I expected it to be. As an avid outdoorsman I know that wild animals don't travel by a set schedule and their actions can be un-predictable. I am sure many tourists expect to see about 100 whales per trip, all with their flukes about 15 feet out of the water for 10 seconds each so cameras can be focused. In a perfect world...right. We saw whales, the crew was pleasant...we had a good time. We got a few good photos....the price was right. All good stuff. Thanks | ||||||

Beautiful Day on Whale Watching Excursion

| This was a Valentine's Day excursion my husband and I decided we wanted to take. I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the boat and the guarantee of seeing whales (or at least dolphins) or they will give you "whale tickets" for another trip. Yes, we ended up getting the whale tickets but that was out of the generosity of the operators of the trip because we actually did see a small pod of white sided dolphins jumping and playing with a sea lion. It was really neat! There were about 100 people on our 2 hour trip but the boat was easily large enough to accomodate 200 people so there were no feelings of overcrowding. After we returned to the dock, we decided to have a late lunch at The Jolly Roger which was "a few steps" away. One other note...we decided my 86 year old, wheel chair boun father-in-law could easily come with us on our return adventure. The boat was very handicap accessible. | ||||||

| The boat was very nice and clean, the crew members were very friendly and helpful. The food offered on board was good and was fairly priced. So often food is overpriced (movie theatres) when they have a captive audience, but NOTwith this company. When a whale was spotted, the skipper gave us information about it (the whale) and told us what direction to look, as well as what the whale might do next. Also gave us great information about the sea lions lounging on a buoy. We very much appreciated the discount price as we would not have been able to afford to take our family on this lovely trip at the regular price. This was a great deal! | ||||||

| The catamaran felt safe and yet we had quite a ride with the waves running about 4-6 feet. We didn't see any whales but quite a few dolphins. | ||||||

| Three generations of my family participated and all caught multiple fish. Crew was extremely helpful and provided special attention to kids with backlashes. Boat wasn't crowded and there was ample room to minimze tangles. Affordable, professional and clean. Professional filleting of fish was only $1 per fish. Healthy environment for families with children. 5 hours was plenty of time and the captain picked 3 good locations. Would definitely do it again! (Perhaps the all-day or Catalina) | ||||||

| My group went out expecting bottom fishing not knowing we we only going for barracuda. It was fast paced and became frustrating to our family group from Colorado. My rented reel did not work well. My recommendation would be for the type of fishing (bottom or other) be given at the time reservations are made. Customers need to check their rented equipment before getting on the boat. | ||||||

| My whole family loved the whale/dolphin watching cruise. The marine biologist educated us all before we even left the marina. The whole crew was attentive - I was a little sea sick and one of the crew members came out to check on me twice. If you are prone to motion sickness, take a Dramamine before you go, but whatever you do, don't miss this experience! We saw 2 different blue whale groups (mother and calf) and lots of dolphins. I definitely recommend it for people of all ages. | ||||||

| The wife and I went on the half day trip in the middle of september. The crew was extremely helpful and the trip was a blast. Good fun for everyone involved and un-like everything else in california they did not nickle and dime you to death. | We went on the 2pm trip on december 21, 2008. We saw only one whale, but when we returned to the harbor we suddenly noticed a pod of dolphins behind the boat. We notified the captain. He turned around and suddenly we were amidst hundreds of dolphins. They jumped out of the water on all sides of the boat; it was truly magnificent. I appreciate the extra effort of the crew to stay 10-15 minutes longer on the water so that we could see the dolphins. I will definitely go again. | ||||||

| This was a fun event. We didn't see any whales or dolphins, but the whale check with a promise for a future ride softened the blow of that. :) We came in the middle of the day on a weekday, so it was comfortable and not crowded on the boat. Good crew, fun little event for out-of-towners. | ||||||

| The weather was beautiful and our daughter's first time whale watching (3). Unfortunately we didn't see any whales however we saw a massive pod of dolphins. We spent about 40 minutes with them and have awesome pictures. The boat had a group of school children who were absolutely delighted. The staff was informative and would do the trip again. | ||||||

| The boat trip was fun for all 8 of us even though the weather was very cold. We only saw a few dolphins but everyone enjoyed the day. Our 5 year old and 10 year old grandchildren enjoyed doing something different and had lots of fun checking out the hot chocolate and chips, We all plan to go again. Thanks for making our trip fun. | ||||||
