Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

I talked to three people to get the tickits because I had to cheek on things and keep calling back and everyone I talked to was very nice and helpful.

We did see a gray whale and watched it emerge several times over 30-40 minutes. Good value for 1/2 price.

We had a great time, enjoying the fantastic weather and scenery. We saw sealions and dolphins and finally some whales. The crew went out of their way to try to ensure we saw some whales and actually over ran the sailing time to do so. Very friendly and informative staff.

Crew was great, if you don't want to touch the fish you never have to, there is always a crew member around to do everything for you. Good food too!

The 2 hours spent on the whale watching boat were very fun! The ocean was calm, the crew experienced, friendly and professional. Though we ultimately did not see any whales, we did receive a coupon to go back out again! I would recommend this activity to my friends!

My wife and I were visiting as tourists from Arizona in Laguna Beach. We had driven down the coast to Dana Point Harbor where we became aware of the Tuesday Special whale watching cruise. The cost was more than reasonable at 1/2 the regular price and we signed on. The Dana Pride is a very well appointed and well maintained boat and the crew was very experienced- - -not only in maning and operating the boat, but expert in dealing with people who were their guests on the cruise. A remarkable point in that was their helpful and compassionate assistance with 5 people in wheel chairs who went on the cruise. Throughout the 2 hour cruise our very able Captain educated us with the ecology of the sea, migration habits of the whales and soon found two grey whales migrating north. The Captain pointed out that sea mammals, including the Gray whales we saw are protected by law. A number of speedboats and personal watercraft were there and operating their crafts far too close to the whales. Our Captain used the boat's loudhailer to warn the craft and tell them they were breaking federal law. We were brought to see many dolphins and California seals as well as the whales. This was a very memorable experience and we would highly recommend the experience to anyone visiting the Dana Point area. Dana Point is about 12 miles south of Laguna Beach California. THAD & Bette

We were very fortunate to see a whale within 15 minutes of departure. Our captian followed him for about 45 minutes, so we all got to see it a dozen times as it surfaced for air. If we hadn't seen a whale on the trip, I would have been very dissapointed and probably not recomend the trip, although the scenery was beautiful.

We weren't sure what to expect and thought maybe we were just going to be seeing the coastline. Boy did you surprise us! We were blown away when we were able to see the whales several times as they resurfaced. It was jaw dropping and exciting. What amazing creatures! The staff made it truly special with their interesting facts and knowledge base. The crew was extremely knowledgable about the sealife in the area and really great with the guests. You can tell that the crew respects the whales and are just as fascinated by them as we were. Thank you for making our voyage an event to remember!

On our first day of whale watching we didn't see anything. It was disappointing, but we were surprised with free tickets to come back whenever we could. No expiration date!!! We ended up returning a few days later and saw a whale and a huge pod of dolphin. It was so exciting!!!! I will return whenever I am in the area. This was a great deal for the money, especially because they stand by their ride!!!!

Even though no whales appeared, the ride was still great. The cruise was not overcrowded. The guide was informative and interesting.

We had an awesome trip! We were hoping to see a blue whale, but instead saw a pod of orcas which included a baby!! We took this trip last June and saw a blue whale!! Two great experiences!!

Thoroughly enjoyed the whale watching - once in a life time experience.If the opportunity arises, we would do it again. Staff were very knowledgable.

I was impressed with the captain's commentary about Baileen Whales and the CA Gray Whale in particular. We spotted and trailed a Gray Whale for about an hour and the crew seemed just as excited as the passengers were. What a spectacular trip!

Everything about this experience was wonderful. The crew on the boat were so helpful and informative. Never did we expect to see the dolphins and whales like we did. It definately far-exceeded our expectations and we can't wait until we can do it again.

Amazing....our captain stayed out over our scheduled time when we came apon 2 whales and one of them actually showed his tail...........Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! Really made my weekend!!!!! Thank you sooooooooooo much!! :-)
