Fantastic Day!

| This is the third whale watching trip I've taken and the best I've been on. The longer trip (4 hours) meant we could go further out (and South) than we could have on a shorter trip. The group was a lot smaller than on the whale-watching boats and the structure of the catamaran means there are many great spots to watch from. The crew was friendly and the naturalist was knowledgable and enthusiastic. I enjoyed it so much that I'll be going back this summer for a blue whale experience! | ||||||

| The crew was extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the sealife. We saw literally hundreds of dolphins that were swimming at our feet (we were on the bow) for over 20 minutes. It was wonderful. We did not see any whales and found out later in the day, that all other boats out of Dana Point did not see any whales either. It was well worth it and we will be back again soon. Thank you! | ||||||

| While it was a beautiful day at sea and we saw many beautiful pods of dolphins, no whales were to be found. We waited too late in the season (Mar 1) so missed the south whales and too early for the north. The out-of-towners were all disappointed. I've been on no-whale trips before, but the captain and crew were able to make the trip entertaining with great information and attitude. Not this trip. I recommend the large catamaran vs. a cruiser like the Dana Pride. | ||||||

| The boat is large, clean, stable and almost new. The staff was frienly, helpful, and knowledgable. They found a huge pod of dolphins that came right up to the boat, a Mola Mola the size of a small dining table and I saw a whale breech in the distance. That combined with great weather made this a spectacular experience. Remember your jacket no matter how warm it is (it was over 80 at the dock but downright cold at full speed). I had a jacket but those in shorts and tank tops were covered in goose bumps unless they sought the shelter of the indoor area. Wear good walking shoes because you will want to stand on the front or rear deck to be sure to see everything. Hats and sunglasses are a good thing and sunscreen might be good too even at this time of year. I would happily go again and soon! | ||||||

| The weather was great, warm and sunny, but it was late in the season for the southerly migration and not really ready for the return north, so expectation was not high. After only 10 minutes at sea the skipper spotted a grey whale heading south and got us close by, without spooking the whale. It was wonderful to see it close up. We will certainly go again and now we are better informed as to times etc. we will choose a better time to view and probably take a longer trip. Thanks to the operators | ||||||

| This was a 2 hour whale watching trip up toward the Pacific. The first 1hour 1/2 did not see anything but some California Sea Lions. On the way back, it was getting closer to having to get a refund on the ticket if whales was not seen. Captain spotted a whale, but was really hard to see. It was disappointing. (Some air blowing out of blow hole, far away) Incrediable! *Captain said that Grays only come up a few minutes for air after every 5-6 minutes under water. | ||||||

| Unfortunately, on the whale watching trip, there were no whales sighted. It was disappointing but the crew was fantastic. Upbeat attitudes, good knowledge and always checking to make sure the passengers were ok. | ||||||

| It was a beautiful sunny day, although chilly. Warm clothing is recommended. We unfortunately did not see any whales, but did see a huge pod of dolphins that swam with the boat for quite a while. This made it all worthwhile. We would definately go out again! | ||||||

| We loved the ocean, watching the dolphins playing! Seeing a little bit of the whale was awesome! We booked the trip and went 3 times! It was SO much fun! The first trip we saw tons of dolphins and sea lions and 1 whale! 2nd trip we didn't see anything, but still enjoyed the boat tour! - And since we didn't see dolphins or whales we received our ticket back stamped for a free trip, so we took our 3rd trip & we again saw tons of dolphins and sea lions! We would definitely recommend this tour! The staff was GREAT! :) | ||||||

| Loved this trip, website was very nice to use for booking, boat left on time and was very stable and comfortable on the water. Staff was diligent in maximizing the experience and very knowledgable about the marine life. They were really very pleasant and we would recommend the trip and take another one ourselves. Thanks very much! | ||||||

Beautiful Day on Whale Watching Excursion

| This was a Valentine's Day excursion my husband and I decided we wanted to take. I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the boat and the guarantee of seeing whales (or at least dolphins) or they will give you "whale tickets" for another trip. Yes, we ended up getting the whale tickets but that was out of the generosity of the operators of the trip because we actually did see a small pod of white sided dolphins jumping and playing with a sea lion. It was really neat! There were about 100 people on our 2 hour trip but the boat was easily large enough to accomodate 200 people so there were no feelings of overcrowding. After we returned to the dock, we decided to have a late lunch at The Jolly Roger which was "a few steps" away. One other note...we decided my 86 year old, wheel chair boun father-in-law could easily come with us on our return adventure. The boat was very handicap accessible. | ||||||

| There is very little seating for those that need it. be prepared to standOur 74 old mother with her freshly healed broken foot looked forward to this adventure.. at this point probably a once in a lifetime thing for her...We went after a few days of rain and wind,The swells were very high, and nowhere for her to sit on the main deck , as there are no seats there( all the seats were taken on the upper deck) sitting down below caused motion sickness within minutes so she had to stand and hold her ground and balance with her feet. she was very sore afterward. the last 15 min as we were heading in we saw 2 whales...quite a ways away. that was it. you had to look hard. they surfaced twice and were gone. the next day we went fishing and we saw dolphins swimming with our boat and sea lions, but mom wasn't with for that trip. personally disappointed on behalf of my mom.I'm glad we took advantage of the 1/2 price Tuesday The crew were looking.. but if they are not to be seen not much they can do about it.They seemed knowledgable and were very pleasant. Everything was very easy. from ordering tickets, directions and getting tickets at the counter in the shop.Parking was free and there was plenty of it | ||||||
