| We went on the weekend because we were in town then and knew that a Marine Biologist was on board. She was extremely knowledgeable and the trip on a whole was very exciting. We saw a pod of about 500 dolphins and then were able to see a rare sighting of 2 humpback whales!! We stayed out longer than our allotted time because of a tip that whales were sighted. They asked everyone if we could stay out later and we all agreed and were pleased to see the whales. It was so worth it. Fantastic!! | ||||||

| We all had a great time and would love to go back for more. Since we went April 30th we did not expect to see any whales. It was a beautiful day on a very nice boat with nice staff and they did diligently try to find whales for us. The staff was very nice and accommodating to peoples needs. | ||||||

| The 5 hour fishing trip run by Dana Wharf is very well organized and is a real fun day. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and attentive. They provide more than enough live bait for the whole day of fishing. Although we did not catch much fish due to the early time of the year it was still a fun trip and we did see a lot of marine wildlife like sea lions and a whale. Everyone in my group is interested in doing this fishing trip again. | ||||||

| Having done some research and read others reviews, I went on this trip with the understanding that I may not see any whales this late in the season. I booked this trip because of the location to where I was staying, the price (half price Tuesday) and a recommendation from a family member who has taken the cruise before. I have to say, I was not disappointed! The crew were all terrific, the boat was clean & comfortable and the refreshments available were great. I also like the fact that if no dolphins or whales were sighted, you would be issued a credit for a future cruise. We were lucky enough to see seals and LOTS of playful dolphins. We spent a lot of time with them and our captain explained their feeding habits and general behavior. I would HIGHLY recommend this whale watch to anyone. You may not see whales, but you will have a wonderful day! | ||||||

| We saw 2 groups of dolphins on our trip, bottle nose dolphins that weren't as playful, and common dolphins that were more into the bow ridin :) The marine biologist on our boat was very friendly and knowledgeable, answered all our questions. I know the group tried to find some whales, but we were out of luck. Still, very enjoyable trip and would highly recommend it to others. | ||||||

| The whale watch was just okay. We didn't see any whales, however we do understand that it's the end of the grey whale migration. We did see dolphins and sea lions. We enjoyed the trip, although I thought 2 hours was a little short. The staff were friendly but not very exciting. I'd say it's a good tour if you just want to go out and see what you may see, but don't expect too much. | ||||||

| Many in our group were very inexperienced. The deck hands were so VERY patient and friendly. They repeatedly untangled our lines with a smile. They took the time out to explain things. Although we didn't catch any fish, we had a very good time. I believe that we owe this in great part to your crew. I am not very good with names but I believe that the lead deckhand was named Mike(?)...short brown hair, raised in San Clemente, tatoo on his calf....friend and warm personality. I would recommend your fishing outfit to my friends. | ||||||

| Upon arriving at Dana Point Wharf to check in, we were advised that the sea was rough and they recommended taking something for sea sickness. We were escorted onto the boat on a beautiful spring day. The trip out to sea was rocky, but soon we were invited to purchase drinks or food items. Our first siting were seals and we were given detailed information regarding their habits. We also spotted dolphins and information was also provided. Unfortunately, we did not observe whales but plan to do the trip again,. Before placing our reservations, I asked the representative if this was good time or should we wait for blue whale season and was advised to go ahead now. I know there is no guarantee for spotting whales, but hopefully next visit we can obtain a recommendation on a best bet for a time to see a whale. Truly enjoyed the day and look forward to next trip. | ||||||

| We had a fun time on the boat my 3 year old had a blast, I just wished we would have seen whales. We did see a lot of dolphins which left us happy. Maybe next time, I would definately try it again. | ||||||

94th Birthday

| My father-in-law told me that the only thing he wanted for his 94th birthday was to go ocean fishing, so my brother-in-law and I obliged. It was a wonderful day of fishing, and he caught a Sand Bass. The crew was knowledgeable, energetic, polite and helpful, and we look forward to going again on his 95th, if not before. Highly recommend this half day trip. Dana Wharf has a great website, easy to find location and parking, great captains and crews, and a beautiful coastline to enjoy, whether the fish are biting or not! | ||||||

| the staff and the people were all very friendly and the boat ride was nice and relaxing, but we didn't see anything except some seals on a buoy. however, we did get free tickets to go again next time. i can't quite formulate a decent opinion until i see something on the next trip! | ||||||

| My friends and myself really enjoyed the whale watching trip. We didn't exactly see any whales but we saw a whole swarm of dophins and other sea life. I'm hoping in the future we could possibly ride the dophins are take turns driving the boat. I was also thinking that maybe you guys can invest in an underwater submarine so we can actually go down below, just some ideas to help improve the experience. We were able to get lots of pictures and were able to share them with friends and family. | ||||||
