Saw plenty of dolphins and 2 blue whales -- they took us out and came in about 30 minutes late so we could be sure to see the 2 whales close up. Great company. |

We were excited to be able to see 2 gray whales. The captain and crew were very knowledgeable and were able to get us in close for a look. After leaving the whales the captain indicated that we would go and find some other mammals (dolphins we assumed) but he simply took the boat back to the dock. This after telling my 9 year old that we would go find some dolphins... A few extra minutes and keeping a promise would have been nice... |

We weren't sure what to expect and thought maybe we were just going to be seeing the coastline. Boy did you surprise us!
We were blown away when we were able to see the whales several times as they resurfaced. It was jaw dropping and exciting. What amazing creatures! The staff made it truly special with their interesting facts and knowledge base. The crew was extremely knowledgable about the sealife in the area and really great with the guests. You can tell that the crew respects the whales and are just as fascinated by them as we were.
Thank you for making our voyage an event to remember! |

The trip was wonderful, we saw 4 Blue Whales, 2 came right past the boat and we also saw loads of dolphins, the experience we will never forget.
The pilot of the boat was a great fella, full of information and always talking updating us on what to look out for.
We had a great time thank you. |

The catamaran trip was worth every penny. It is a "must do" whenever we have guests in town. I prefer the catamaran over the large boat, though. The dolphins swim right next to the boat. It is like being in the water with them. |

My family & I enjoyed the fishing trip very much. My only complaint is that several geriatric males on the trip were extremely rude to my children. |

My family went deep sea fishing together for the 1st time. My boys 10 and 13 had a great time. Even though the fish weren't biting that night. The crew was very helpful. Especially when my boys and husband all got there lines tangled together. One crew member came and had it untangled in a matter of minutes. $25 for twilight fishing 4hrs, you can't beat it |

I was amazed by the blue whale sightings and accuracy of the capitan - I honestly wasn't expecting to see a whale and certainly not 3 times up close, so that was awesome - the dolphins and sealions were an added bonus too. we did the trip for the kids, but think the adults might have been even more excited by the spouting whales! awesome trip - highly recommend! |

My son and I have had the tradition of taking a fishing trip with Dana Pt Sportfishing ever since he was a little boy and he is now 24! We enjoyed yet another trip this year in spite of not catching any fish this time. The boat burgers are the highlights of the day! |

It was impossible to enjoy the fishing while constantly trying to avoid the many pelicans surrounding the boat trying to steal our bait or take our fish. They were there for the entire trip. We spent most of our time dodging the pelicans or getting our lines untangled from the birds or from each other. Also the younger members of the crew were either surly or too inexperienced. Most of the fish were caught by experienced locals who new how to cast far, dodge the birds or untangle their lines quickly. |

This was the first ocean fishing trip for my 9 yr. old Grandson and he was boiling over with excitement by the time we arrived at the warf. I had decided to book the 1/2 day boat since it was his first time, just to get a feel as to how he would handle this type of fishing among a group of people. He landed one of, if not, the first calico bass that day as well as a couple others. The crew was very helpful, polite and one crewmember gave my Grandson cuddos for his fishing skills, which made him feel pretty good. Fishing was a little slow that day but our Captain kept us on the kelp where the boat still managed to land over 50 bass and a few other species as well. That turned out to be more than the full day and 3/4 day boats combined. It was a fun day on the water and I don't believe we had even left the boat before my Grandson asked when our next trip was. |

Since we're from out of state, we wanted to make sure that we saw some whales on our only whale watching tour. After looking at reviews on the net, we decided to make the drive from San Pedro to Dana Point - the tour said you would see whales, guaranteed. They were not making an empty boast!
The captain and crew went out of their way to point out the pods of dolphins and spent quite a bit of time with them to the delight of everyone on board, then told us that the whales were frequently seen in the dolphins proximity. Soon after that we spotted not one but two blue whales spouting in the distance and set a course for them. He gave a great talk about how they show their fluke and dive deep, staying down for about nine minutes. Sure enough, they came up in different areas and we saw both of them - they remained in the area of the boat and came up a few times for us.
Other tour boats must know that this tour finds the whales because they seemed to congregate around us. A great time was had by all! |
