...the majority of the people in our party had never been whalewatching before and when I saw the special $8 tickets available, it was a great opportunity to take advantage of this fun event. The weather worked in our favor and we only got drizzled on a little bit....was a great morning - saw a few whales, lots of dolphins and several sea lions. (By the way, the breakfast burrito my boyfriend got onboard was the BOMB - hats off to the cook!) |

We came back after doing a fishing trip two years prior. This trip we took two whale watching trips one regular and one on the catemaran. We loved it and received plenty of info as the captians were knowledgeble and shared it with us. The next day was fishing five hour tour. We had fun and caught a few fish. since we have been there on two different family vacations with no bad experinces we highly recommend it to others as well. |

Dana wharf is one of the best places to fish in my opinion. They put you on the fish and help you out with gear, rigging, info and great food. There burgers are second to none. The crew is always polite and friendly and always willing to help. I will be coming back again and again. |

The guide and crew of the catamaran were great and within about 20 minutes of the trip two Blue whales were spotted along with hundreds of Common dolphins. Our guide was very knowledgable giving us information about the blue whales and the Common dolphins. This was truly a wonderful experience and I would reccomend this two hour trip to anyone who enjoys the outdoors. |

All in all it was a good trip but due to the lack of wildlife it made the trip a little dull. Fortunately the weather was good so it was just nice to look out at the sea and back at the shoreline.
I would recommend to a friend. |

The boat ride was so delightful, we would have been happy without even seeing whales. But wow did we ever see whales! Up close and personal as they circled the boat and performed in front of us. The guide was terrific and enthusiastic about finding whales. The entire boat cheered him. We will definitely go again! |

Saw a few dolphin in the beginning of the tour, other than that we were just taken aimlessly for over an hour around in hopes of catching a whale sighting. Not offered the guarentee of getting a 2nd ride free if no whale sighting. Animals are unpredictable but it seems it would be a better idea for this company to be constantly monitoring so when a tour goes out they head to where "the action is" instead of randomly driving around. (The tour who was right before us had 3 sightings so it's a wonder why we didn't just go straight towards that area). |

We were pretty disappointed with not seeing any whales or any fish/mammal for that part. Towards the last 15 mins of the 2 hour cruise; we did see some dolphins. The crew informed us that dolphins are part of the whale family; so no reimbursements or credits for future tours. Crew was very nice and friendly, but overall trip was disappointment. |

The 10-12pm Whale watch tour on Sunday, March 22 should have been canceled due to stormy weather and we should have gotten our money back.
We saw no whales and the boat ride was very turbulent causing sea sickness.
Upon realizing this the Dana Point whale watch tour canceled the remaining tours for the day.
Not satisfactory. |

We didn't see anything which they said was rare. We did get tickets to come back and try again. It was a beautiful ride out to sea looking at the sunset. My son (7) found the Sea Lions and birds very exciting. He became a little bored toward the end of the cruise but all in all he loved it and said he wanted to go again. I am hoping to go earlier in the migration period next time so we can see some whales and dolphins. The crew was so nice and very helpful. I am looking forward to my next trip. |
