Everyone caught fish! It was a good season opener. Somehow got a Thresher Shark aboard which was divvied out in big chunks. Cool trip!

Tremendous - Highly Recommend!

We (along with the crew) started the evening not sure of what we would find. Quickly we found a large group of Bottlenose Dolphins. Quickly behind them we found some Risso's Dolphins. Another even bigger group of Bottlenose Dolphins played and even jumped in unison in front of the bow! Then, the best - a Blue Whale! We got to watch it come up and dive several times. The crew was even amazed - the first of the year! Then we briefly saw a smaller whale - the Minke? It was such an incredibly beautiful evening - coming back in with the sunset and having seen the beauty we had...would do it again in a heartbeat!

We had a wonderful time on the OCean Adventure Catamaran. My teenaged daughters loved it and want to go back and bring a group of their friends. Captain Larry and the Naturalist, Morgan made the trip a great adventure. We saw thousands of dolphins and one whale. We'll be back!

May 25th, 2008 1/2 fishing trip @ 10:00am

Even though the fishing was poor, the captain and his crew were very nice and extremely helpful. The crew was on deck at all times to lend assistance to all the fishermen (i.e. remove catch fr lines, getting birds unhooked). The captain was well informed and kept giving instructions on the best methods to catch a fish. The weather and ocean view of the coast line was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend this company & crew to others.

Shortly after leaving the harbor we entered a "superpod" of common dolphins, estimated at 3,000 to 4,000 strong. We stayed with the pod for the next 45 minutes as they darted and leapt around the boat. It was an amazing sight.

The 1/2 day trip was a lot of fun. It was my first time fishing on a boat and It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. The crew is there to help if you need it.

Barracuda fishing - opening day
Tue, May 27, 08   10:00 AM Richardscott Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Other
My group went out expecting bottom fishing not knowing we we only going for barracuda. It was fast paced and became frustrating to our family group from Colorado. My rented reel did not work well. My recommendation would be for the type of fishing (bottom or other) be given at the time reservations are made. Customers need to check their rented equipment before getting on the boat.

My first time ever, and it was a blast!

This was my first experience ocean fishing, and it blew trout fishing out of the water! The captain knew just where to find the fish most of the time, and the barracuda meat is good for many meals!

Nice to out on a boat

All in all it was a good trip but due to the lack of wildlife it made the trip a little dull. Fortunately the weather was good so it was just nice to look out at the sea and back at the shoreline. I would recommend to a friend.

No Whales, But Really Enjoyable!

Unfortunately , we did not see whales during this trip. At the beginning of the trip we saw a number of sea lions sun-bathing on a buoy close to the dock. After which we briefly saw two bottlenose dolphin. It was only a glimpse though, and they were not very curious or friendly. Most of the trip after this was uneventful. We didn't see anything, but we did enjoy the trip. The boat was really relaxing and calming in the way it rocked back and forth. This downtime made for a romantic time for my girlfriend and I. Towards the end of the trip in the last 30 minutes we did get to see something awesome. A flock of pelicans and a school of 200+ dolphins were working together to snack on a school of bait fish. It was amazing watching these animals work in tandem with each other. These were common dolphins and were friendly to the boat. They raced all alongside of us, in our wake, and played along the bow. It was great watching them leap about. We then headed home. As someone who has never seen dolphins in the wild before, this was a great experience which I'd definitely recommend. We will definitely be coming back in the peak of whale watching season later on in the year.
