Great Valentine's Adventure

| Even though the trip out was in between whale-migrating seasons, we got to se a straggler on its way. The tour guide was very informative, especially for such a large group. The trip was less personal than what we wanted, but it was our first trip, so now we know what it is like. Great opportunity for taking pictures. Really enjoyed the incentives given to come back. This trip was reasonably priced, and customer service was great, overall it was a nice experience. | ||||||

| What a nice 'value' experience, the boat hands were decent, the guy working the grill on-board 'yes' grill (really decent food) was friendly, and congenial. The captain, knew what he was talking about with regards to whales but didn't talk too much....all in all well worth the $29 per person. | ||||||

| We saw several marine mammals (including several dolphins, sea lions and a grey whale). The marine biologist onboard gave us a lot of detailed information and really added to our experience. The boat ride was comfortable and fun and we were able to get really close to dolphins, which was very exciting... especially for the little ones! This was an AWESOME trip! I would like to go every year at migration season!!! | ||||||

Beautiful Day on Whale Watching Excursion

| This was a Valentine's Day excursion my husband and I decided we wanted to take. I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the boat and the guarantee of seeing whales (or at least dolphins) or they will give you "whale tickets" for another trip. Yes, we ended up getting the whale tickets but that was out of the generosity of the operators of the trip because we actually did see a small pod of white sided dolphins jumping and playing with a sea lion. It was really neat! There were about 100 people on our 2 hour trip but the boat was easily large enough to accomodate 200 people so there were no feelings of overcrowding. After we returned to the dock, we decided to have a late lunch at The Jolly Roger which was "a few steps" away. One other note...we decided my 86 year old, wheel chair boun father-in-law could easily come with us on our return adventure. The boat was very handicap accessible. | ||||||

| I had to remind myself it was the off season, not a lot of fish were caught. The water was cold and it was the day after a rain storm. However, the crew was friendly and helpful, the boat wasn't crowded and it was a beautiful day, so why complain. I would suggest the crew place the bait knife out of the reach of children as 4 kids that had been "dumped" by mom were playing with everything in sight. | ||||||

| Just saw 3 sea lions and 3 dolphins and was unfortunate not to see any whale. Ride was a little bumpy during that time so we felt a little nausea. Was given whale check to go back some other time.....but to travel all the way back there from LA is quite far and thinking that there is another big chance not to see a whale makes us not want to go back. I just found that there is another one at Long Beach with same price and recommend it if you're closer to that area. | ||||||

| Enjoyed the trip tremendously. While rain threatened and it was chilly,the experience was great. It was the first Whale Watch for my wife and she really enjoyed it. The boat was clean, the crew was very courteous and knowledgeable. They made the effort to make sure that if Whales were to be found that we would get to see them. Nice Job! Definitely a return trip in the future. | ||||||

| We had a large group on a limited budget, so we wouldn't have been able to consider the trip without this special Tuesday discount pricing. We saw several whales and a family of dophins swam alongside the boat, but we would have been satisfied even with just the boat ride, which was refreshing and fun. Thanks Dana Wharf, and please consider more specials for locals like us! | ||||||

| That day was wonderful. We saw grey whales (maybe not as close as we were hoping for, but still nice), then on the way back, we were kind of disappointed because that was all, but it turned out that a family of dolphins were passing by. The boat then stop and even turned around so could have a better look. The dolphins were swimming so close to the boat even going under it, it was fabulous. And then we saw sea lions (not seals!!!), that was great too. And we can't forget the pelicans flying so close to us just above the boat, delightful. And of course the weather was wonderful too, calm sea and blue sky, what else can you ask for! Thanks for the great experience! | ||||||

| It was a nice day for a boat ride , the ocean was as smooth as glass, and we did see a whale. We also saw dolphins so close to the boat! THE DANA PRIDE boat was very nice and the galley had an array of snacks and goodies. The crew was knowledgeable and helpful. We had a very nice time! | ||||||

| We appreciated the Tuesday half-price tickets, the on-time departure and return, the enthusiastic welcome, the many dolphins and the lone whale we saw. It was a beautiful sunny day and it was a stable boat with a happy crowd. We didn't eat on board, but others seemed to like their food. Would recommend this to all ages. | ||||||
