Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

The whale watching tour was fun!

The crew of the Dana Pride do a great job, and the boat is very pleasant. We did see some whales, but nothing spectacular as they were busy migrating, so just a few fins and no breaches. We also saw dolphins and thought the skipper did a fine job educating the passengers with his comments. Good solid family fun.

While the weather was overcast and windy, it was still worth standing on the bow of the boat to watch the common dolphin playing along side the boat and the whale breach near by. The captain did an excellent job of circling so the 40-50 dolphins could play in front, beside, under and behind the boat for 10-15 mintes. Many opportunities for photos and videos. At the same time, his informational talk was interesting without being imposing. He waited over 30 minutes for us to see the whale breach 3 or 4 times before we had to speed back in order to not delay the next group. The captain's knowledge of marine life and the area was impressive and entertaining. A great value and highly recommended for families with kids of all ages.

Not only did we have a great time seeing all the dolphins and the fin whale, but the captain of the boat was very knowledgeable about all the sea life and provided and detailed explanation of what we were seeing. All of us had a great time.

I would highly recommend this company to others for whale watching. The guide was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the whales. It certainly helped that we saw whales within 20' of the boat but beyond that I felt it was a great crew that would make the most of every trip out.

Whales are right off shore so no long trek out to sea. Boat commodious. Bloody Mary's available for those with children (and food for kids as well). Very persistent crew in finding and tracking whales. Good commentary

The 1/2 price whale watch was well worth the money. We did see a pod of 6 whales, some dolphins, and seals. The boat was in good condition and staff was friendly and informative.

The trip was great. The captain really made a point of trying to see as much as possible. The crew was great too. Two hours was the perfect amount of time.

We saw Fin Whales, Grey Whales, Dolphins, and Sea Lions!!! To top off the whole trip, we saw a whale breach and another whale's fluke as we were returning to the harbor. I would reccommend this to anyone.

We had a great time, despite the fog and cool weather. This was a fun and educational tour, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

This was a great memorable family adventure. This is for the kids and the adults too. The staff at Dana Wharf Sport Fishing & Whale Watching are very professional and knowledgable. Without a doubt' I would (and have) recommended them to many family and friends. I wish we could have seen more whales, but we have no control over nature. We look forward to another adventure with Dana Wharf.

There were a couple of groups of grey whales that were being shy and elusive but we saw a megapod of common dolphins that was at least 1000 strong. We also saw a more rare type of dolphin though i can't remember the name. The crew was friendly, very knowledgeable, and helpful. And the ship and ride were comfortable.

We had a great time on our trip. If I had a choice to do this again, I would try to go during the week. There was a lot of boat traffic in the water on Sunday afternoon, as one might expect and the other boats did not understand the unofficial rules of whale watching. Our captain did all he could to educate them and encourage them to be responsible and respectful to both the whales and all the rest of us who were trying to enjoy this wonderful experience. Overall, we still had a terrific time and did have success in seeing gray whales, dolphins, and sea lions. I would definitely recommend this for anyone!
