| Our group had a great time. There were several whale sightings and the captain put a lot of effort into keeping a watch for the whales and directing the boat so we all could have a closer look. We even came up along side a group of sea lions. It was a great little get away. | ||||||

| My husband and I each took our dad's out for fathers day. My dad had never been and had a good time. My husband takes his dad every year. Very fun and exciting! | ||||||

| We were on the Reel Fun 1/2 day fishing on Saturday June 20, 2009. We had a great time. The guys on the boat helped all of us that needed help. Very attentive to our needs. We were a family of six. Ages 17 yrs old - 45. Caught several fish. We will be back!! Very fun day!! | ||||||

| We're pretty seasoned whale watchers (B.C., Mass., Alaska . . . ) and didn't have our expectations met. There was no narration at any point on the trip out to see the whales. We did see some blue whales, but went out so far to see them that we had very little time to spend watching them. There was narration during the watch part, but only one little bit on the way back when we came across some sea lions sleeping on a buoy. Would have been nice to know as we went along where we were geographically (Newport Beach, Malibu?). | ||||||

| I decided to take my mom, and my visiting aunt and grandma from Russia on this evening whale watching boat ride. It was a fabulous deal, for $14.50 (which is a Tuesday half price special) we got to witness a beautiful ocean for 2 hrs. We didn't get to see the whales unfortunately, but we saw a family of dolphins playing around with the boat as well a group of sea-lions. The ship staff was extremely friendly and helpful in pointing out the sea life. The captain was able to tell us knowledgeably about everything that we saw during our cruise. All in all a beautiful experience! But I love the ocean, so I am biased... | ||||||

| I know you can't control the weather. We caught 5 fish for the entire boat. The trip was fun. Seeing the dolphins and sea lions. Won't go after a Kid Clinic again. Way to many kids on boat. Wish we would of caught something. Otherwise nice day. Good value. | ||||||

| Overall this tour is a great experience. The view is amazing. The crew was friendly. We didn't see any whales, I guess they are more likely from November to March. We did see some dolphins which was fun. If you can get a deal on the tickets by going mid week then it is really worth the money, even if you don't see a lot of ocean life. | ||||||

| This is the second time I've been out with my son and family when in CA - the first time we were lucky enough to be one of the first boats to see a blue whale for the season. This time we didn't have any whales, but two types of dolphins who entertained us wonderfully. The crew is great about describing the dolphins and their habits. It was cool - if the weather says overcast, remember to dress in layers. There were some people there in summer nothings that froze! We were late leaving because of some late comers, but the crew made sure we were out for our full 2 hours. | ||||||

| My son (19) and I did this for his birthday. Neither of us had ever done a fishing trip like this before and we both loved it. I knew he would like it, but I did not expect to have such a good time. The crew was very helpful and supportive. My tip, wear sunscreen, even if it is cloudy! Great trip. You need to try this one! | ||||||

| My parents were out for a visit and it was first time out on pacific ocean. It was fun for them, we were disappointed, that we did not see whales. The dolphins were about 10 miles out. | ||||||

| The reason I say disappointing is - the ad reads blue whale season begins in May. One of the first things the captain announced was, blue whale season begins in late May/early June. Perhaps you should change the dates to reflect this more accurately. The catamaran ride was great though. | ||||||

| The whale watch was just okay. We didn't see any whales, however we do understand that it's the end of the grey whale migration. We did see dolphins and sea lions. We enjoyed the trip, although I thought 2 hours was a little short. The staff were friendly but not very exciting. I'd say it's a good tour if you just want to go out and see what you may see, but don't expect too much. | ||||||

94th Birthday

| My father-in-law told me that the only thing he wanted for his 94th birthday was to go ocean fishing, so my brother-in-law and I obliged. It was a wonderful day of fishing, and he caught a Sand Bass. The crew was knowledgeable, energetic, polite and helpful, and we look forward to going again on his 95th, if not before. Highly recommend this half day trip. Dana Wharf has a great website, easy to find location and parking, great captains and crews, and a beautiful coastline to enjoy, whether the fish are biting or not! | ||||||
