Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

This was the best money I spent on the entire trip. Was a wonderful experience enjoyed by everyone on board. The crew of the cruise were great...very friendly...interacting with all and very helpful.

We enjoyed the 8am outing and saw dolphins, sea lions, and whales!

Fantastic experience - my 15-year son was thrilled and enthralled...a major highlight to our vacation.

We really enjoyed the trip. The weather was perfect. We saw plenty of common dolphins and finally saw a whale an hour and a half into the trip. He put on a great show for us though. All-in-all, the trip was great!

We didn't see any whales due to the dense fog. Better to go later in the day I guess. Still, the crew took us into a pod of dolphins which was fun to see.

we went out on a cold and windy day. Unfortunately we didn't spot any whales. The trip was fun though - and we got a pass to come back again for free. The boat was nice and well-maintained - and the crew seemed very professional. Our only suggestion is that there could have been more commentary during the trip. No one said anything from when we left until we got back. I'm only assuming they would have said something if we had seen a whale.

It was a nice day for a boat ride and saw lots of dolphins but no whales. The boat was nice but no whales. They gave us a ticket to come back but seeing as how they are not seeing whales and I live 2,000 miles away it doesn't seem like a free ticket is all that valuable.

This was a fun trip, but the service was a bit odd. There were no paper towels in the bathroom, and no one seemed interested in putting any in there. A bit yucky. We did not see any whales, but the dolphins were fun.

The 1/2 day trip was a lot of fun. It was my first time fishing on a boat and It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. The crew is there to help if you need it.

The day was cloudy and cold until we got out on the water, then the sun broke through and it was beautiful. We watched a pod of 3 whales for about 30 minutes or more, then caught some sea lions napping on a buoy. My granddaugher -age 14- absorbed a lot of information from the naturalist and really enjoyed our outing. We will definitely do this again.

I fished the October of 2011 and had a good time. The staff was courteous and efficient. Food was even good. I took the 5 hour pm trip and would due it again.

Well, we had an amazing but maybe not typical experience. The trip we were on wasn't too crowded which was really nice. Then we got to follow a mama gray whale with her baby. The baby actually breached, and I caught it on video. We really enjoyed our trip. I got some food from the galley, too. The grilled cheese was delicious.

Although I live locally my dad and his wife were in town from Wisconsin. It was a great activity both for them being out of town and for my 3 year old daughter. We saw a ton of dolphins, 2 whales (which I wasn't anticipating) as well as the seals, not to mention the beautiful landscape. I would recommend the cruise for both locals and out of towners!

The captain was great, knew a lot about the animals we saw. It was educational and perfect for my 6 year old and I. The captain made sure we had plenty of time with the dolphins, awesome experience.

The captain did find whales and stayed on them/it. Unfortunately the whales kept diving and staying under for 10 minutes at a time. We did get fairly close to the whale. Which was difficult for the captain as the whale only took up to 5 breaths before diving down again.
