Fun for adults and kids.

It was a fun day. The trip length was great for our 9 and 10 year old and long enough that the adults got to enjoy it. The crew was helpful and friendly and even stayed out a little longer to allow us the chance to catch a few more fish. It was worth the money and we are planning a return trip.

We had a great time on the whale watching cruise in Dana Point. It was a beautiful day and the waters were nice and calm, absolutely perfect. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. I have strongly recommended the cruise to friends and family. It was a great experience!

It was a great day. The crew was friendly and enthusiastic. The boat was clean. We saw a whale and followed it for about 35 minutes. Then took off and found a school of dolphins about 500-600 strong. The crew was very professional. My sister was in from Pennsylvania and enjoyed the cruise thoroughly.

We saw a big nursery pod of dolphins which was great. My girlfriend and other friends loved them. We saw a grey whale with a calf and they liked them too but when we watched them surface for about 5-10 seconds every few minutes for a half hour it was a bit repetitive. It was good, we came to see whale and we saw them. Thanks a lot!

We couldn't believe the amazing two for one deal offered by Dana Wharf . A two hour cruise out of Dana Point on a lovely April afternoon would have satisfied. It being so late in the whale watching season, we were optimistic, but not resolute. Soon out of port, the ship was surrounded by pods of playful dolphins, riding the wake, jumping and frolicking all around. The captain had to circle and speed so we could leave the dolphins to their feeding, but they kept following! When the cruise seemed to be winding to an end without sight of whale, one very determined passenger at the bow of the ship spotted a breach in the water surface on the distant horizon. The captain immediately stopped the engine and all aboard waited eagerly staring transfixed at the "footprint" left on the water. Soon emerged a nursing mother gray whale and her calf. She was returning back north with her newborn by her side, surfacing often with a spray. While the ship was drifting with no propulsion the whales swam ridiculously close by and seemed almost interested in the vessel full of curious stares floating in their pathway. It was a wonderful and memorable once-in-a-lifetime experience, even the crew was genuinely excited.

OUSTANDING TRIP

This was the best whale watching trip I had ever been on. We saw 2 whales within the first half hour. We played with hundreds of dolphins. The crew was helpful and professional. What made this trip so outstanding was having Morgan, a naturalist on board. She answered all of our questions and gave us so much useful information that we all actually had a much better understanding of what we were seeing in the ocean.

Took both my sons with me and it was a good father son event. There were other father daughters on the boat and they equally had a good time. Dress warm for mornings. I plan on bringing my wife for a more unique date soon.

Third trip with no fish caught. There were only four fish caught the whole trip. I believe that your group should be experts on where the fish are. This was once again very disappointing for my son, which disappoints me. We will be going with another outfit next time.

Please let the owners of the Reel Fishing boat know how much we enjoyed the trip. We were very impressed with Zach and the rest of the crew. Their attitudes were great, they were very helpful, and made us feel like they were there to help with whatever our needs might be. I will come back.

Just Do It!!

If you're a tourist in Southern California and have stood in line for all of your other activities, you'll love this Whale-Watching tour! Dana Point is beautiful and the wharf area is manageable and pleasant - no lines (and if there are lines, they'll be short ones). The tour operators are knowledgeable and very friendly. The tour boat is large and comfortable and, on the day we participated, it just skimmed smoothly on the water. My wife and I had a great time and plan on doing it again. Oh, did I mention we didn't see any whales? It didn't matter to us, it was still a fun day and we understand that whales have a mind of their own and don't always read the script! Just make up your mind that you'll have a great time and you will.

I called ahead and asked about poles/tackle and they gave me the wrong advise so I brought the wrong stuff for the trip, so that kind of sucked. I wish I would of been given more accurate information so I could of enjoyed the trip better. Needless to say, I didn't catch anything!
