| Although we didn't see too many whales, dolphins, etc, the guide was informative and had a nice way of giving us information about the whales and the area. He helped keep the trip interesting. Also, we were not too crowded, so it was easy too move to a better viewing position when we wanted to. | ||||||

| I have been fishing out of Dana Point before; it was my friends (co-worker) first time fishing any where!! The boat was a bit crowded, but there is no way to control that, it turned out to be fine!!! The Captain and Crew were very helpful and took care of everyone on board, that's very important!! The day was really nice, however we didn't catch hardly a thing, I only caught a few fish and all were too small and had to be tossed back into the ocean. The jack pot winner was a very small fish!! I believe there were 55 people on board and all put their $5.00 in the jack pot, so the guy received a huge amount for a very small fish, nice going who ever that was!! Fishing for me is just Fun!! I have been fishing out of other docks and some places the Captain and crew have not been very friendly I do love being out at sea and just the whole idea of fishing!! I believe that if the Captain and Crew don't project that feeling of fun and friendliness it just isn't worth it at all. However on this day it was the contrary and the Captain and Crew made it fun so not catching any fish made it ok - Thank You So Very Much!!! I've been fishing other times when I have caught nothing so it was fine for me, I just felt bad for my friend!! However, she said she had a Great time, only because of the Captain and Crew and would go again (Me Too) even though she didn't catch anything!! After all that's why they call it fishing instead of catching!!!! | ||||||

| We had a GREAT time!!! I've been out fishing in Balboa Hated it, everything about it!! The person on the phone, the boat, the crew and I couldn't understand a word that they were saying on the speaker on the boat. The crew was so rude out of Balboa I swore I'd never go back and I did'nt!! Through a friend I started fishing in Marina Del Rey, which I absolutly LOVED!!! However this trip because I was taking other people from work it was too far to go, so someone suggested Dana Point!! From the first person I talked to on the phone to the end of the day was very enjoyable!!! The person at the ticket counter was very friendly and helpful. The crew on board was very helpful and friendly, they came around all the time and helped. I Love being on the boat anyway, so not catching any fish was disapointing, but the Captain and Crew are not at fault. I think the most important things about fishing is to make it fun and enjoyable as possible, and the Captain and Crew did just that!!! They all apologized over and over for not catching any fish, which said a lot, that they really cared!! The Captain talked on the speaker about a lot of things and I could understand him and the Crew (along with the Captain) actually talked to us!! I would go again for sure!! This summer if I can get them together we would like to charter one of your boats for our firm!!! Looks like I have found a new home, I go fishing quite often (usually by myself) and I will definitely be back to visit you again and I wouldn't even bat an eye about going alone!!! Thank You So Much for making our trip so enjoyable. The two other people that I went with had never gone deep sea fishing and on the boat they were both talking about next time. When I arrived at work on Monday they thanked me for inviting them along and they could hardly wait till the next time!!! Good On YOU!!! Please give a special thanks to the Captain and Crew and please tell the kid that got his wisdom teeth removed that I hope he's feeling better!!! Thank you again so very, very much!!! | Not too many fish because of the cold water temp at the time, but a great single perch to take home and eat. We really enjoyed the galley service and look forward to our next time out. | ||||||

| We had a great time on the Whale Watching excursion even though we didn't see any whales. We did see A LOT of dolphins and sea lions which made it worth it! The only thing I didn't like was that we had to stand and didn't have any where to sit. Other than that it was great! | ||||||

| This was a surprise trip for my boyfriend's birthday and we were both pleasantly surprised! Not only did we see hundreds of dolphins but we saw 4 whales! The crew was great in taking us to the perfect spots for dolphin viewing. They were jumping out of the water, some with babies, and playing around the boat and playing with each other. They looked to be having such a wonderful time. It was awsome!! We then ventured out further to search for whales. Our trip was even better than most from what we heard. We saw one of the best 'breaches' of two whales that even the crew said they'd seen. It was absolutely spectacular. We saw others swimming around nearby, partially out of the water at various times, but could see them 'spouting' as well. I highly recommend this trip and I will certainly do it again ! | ||||||

| The trip we took was great. From the start the staff was very friendly. The boat was very clean. We did not catch much fish, but the crew took us to different areas to help us find the best catch. The view and sunset were just beautiful. We had a lot of fun and help from the crew. Most of all we enjoyed the grilled burgers they were the best, way better than our sandwich. Next time we go I will not bother taking a lunch, maybe some snacks. I will definitely return and take another trip with Dana Wharf Fishing | ||||||

| We had first time visitors with us to Ca. and they loved the trip. We saw dolphins and a grey whale, that fluked several times. Our captain was a great narrator with some interesting facts. We really enjoyed ourselves! | ||||||

| Even though we didn't see any whales or dolphins on the morning that I went, it was a beautiful and relaxing day out on the water. I met a lot of nice people. At the end of the cruise, we all got a ticket to come back again, since we didn't see any whales. I would go again whether I saw any or not. Having owned a boat before when I lived out here, I do know that you can see dolphins and whales and sea lions during certain times of the year. We almost always saw dolphins on our way to Catalina. They used to play in the wake our our boat. They are such a joy to see when they are around, but it's not something you can predict, only hope for. Either way, whether you see them or not, you will enjoy being out on the water for a relaxing day trip. I would go out every day if I had the time. I will be back again soon! Just be sure to bring your camera's or video cam's. | ||||||

| This is a double review. My entire family enjoyed a whale watching trip on March 21, 2007 and my son and I enjoyed a five-hour deep-sea fishing trip on March 22. Both were excellent in service, ease of use (fishing trip), knowledge of local marine life (whale watching), and overall quality of the experience. | The process was professional and the crew very competent While on the excursion, was told that this "really isn't the time to look for whales, that comes in a month or two" by a local who regularly liked to take the trip to study dolphins, or so he said. If that is true, I think it would be better for the company to highlight that fact. | ||||||
