Fun at Sea
Sat, Mar 7  8:00 AM kimimayer Female 20-29 Local Family With Children
The ride was fun, a bit choppy this day, but beautiful cool weather. We thought we were not going to see anything, we were headed back to the harbor after a disappointing 1 1/2 hours, but then another boat spotted a whale and we were able to see it. Overall, boring trip if you don't see anything - great if you do. We asked the crew when is the best time of day to go and we were told it varies and there is no perfect time to spot sea life.

Great Day!
Thu, Mar 5  10:00 AM Reiniwinter Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
The weather was beautiful and our daughter's first time whale watching (3). Unfortunately we didn't see any whales however we saw a massive pod of dolphins. We spent about 40 minutes with them and have awesome pictures. The boat had a group of school children who were absolutely delighted. The staff was informative and would do the trip again.

Great Experience
Tue, Mar 3  12:00 PM tuckerjlake Female Unspecified Combination Group of Friends
We weren't lucky enough to see a whale, but received a free pass to try again! Mother nature doesn't always cooperate. Everything was well run, on time & the crew was curtious. It was a nice way to see the coast from a different perspective & spend time on the water.

Very friendly patrons. Honored word of rain checks as we did not see any whales or dolphins.

Enjoyed the day on the water
Tue, Mar 3  10:00 AM gzaratzian Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
It was not the best time of year for fishing, but the view from the water was beautiful. There were a few people who caught something. The capitan made sure to move to different spots so all would have a chance. I enjoyed the trip. The crew were very polite and helpful.

Great trip

We tracked one whale for most of the trip, seeing him spout and fluke several times. The boat's crew was very helpful throughout - guiding us where to look and explaining what we were going to see and did see. The team was very professional and made the trip enjoyable and educational. I would recommend this to friends and visitors.

It was amazing!

The crew was gracious and knowledgeable. The trip was fantastic. So much better than going to a zoo or aquarium. You get to witness these majestic animals in their natural, wild, and free environment and you get a super cool boat trip too.

Excellent!!

The crew was extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the sealife. We saw literally hundreds of dolphins that were swimming at our feet (we were on the bow) for over 20 minutes. It was wonderful. We did not see any whales and found out later in the day, that all other boats out of Dana Point did not see any whales either. It was well worth it and we will be back again soon. Thank you!

Whale watching - don't wait too long!
Sun, Mar 1  12:00 PM cakaras Female 50-59 Local Group of Friends
While it was a beautiful day at sea and we saw many beautiful pods of dolphins, no whales were to be found. We waited too late in the season (Mar 1) so missed the south whales and too early for the north. The out-of-towners were all disappointed. I've been on no-whale trips before, but the captain and crew were able to make the trip entertaining with great information and attitude. Not this trip. I recommend the large catamaran vs. a cruiser like the Dana Pride.

A Whale, Sea Lions, Dolphins and Great Food
Sun, Mar 1  10:00 AM Croemmer Female 60-69 Local Family With Children
Another boat let our captain know the siting of a whale and he was able to go full speed ahead and found the whale in question. We followed it for some time. We also saw sea lions and dolphins. In addition, the food was great along with a cocktail bar. It was a beautiful sunny California day. What more can anyone ask for!

Rejuvination for your soul
Sat, Feb 28  1:00 PM karenguthrie Female 50-59 Local Family Without Children
The boat is large, clean, stable and almost new. The staff was frienly, helpful, and knowledgable. They found a huge pod of dolphins that came right up to the boat, a Mola Mola the size of a small dining table and I saw a whale breech in the distance. That combined with great weather made this a spectacular experience. Remember your jacket no matter how warm it is (it was over 80 at the dock but downright cold at full speed). I had a jacket but those in shorts and tank tops were covered in goose bumps unless they sought the shelter of the indoor area. Wear good walking shoes because you will want to stand on the front or rear deck to be sure to see everything. Hats and sunglasses are a good thing and sunscreen might be good too even at this time of year. I would happily go again and soon!

Absolutely amazing!
Sat, Feb 28  1:00 PM mrsk10 Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
My husband and I drove from Fort Irwin (near Barstow) to Dana Point for this tour, and it was so much more amazing than we thought it was going to be (and we were expecting a lot!) The tour guides knew so much and made us all feel really comfortable. We saw lots of dolphins, seals, and had about 4 whale sightings (even though I missed it every time!) Some ppl on the back of the boat saw a gray whale actually come up and out of the water, and we saw a really weird sun fish that was totally unexpected. The coolest thing was they weren't worried about time limits. We came back half and hour late because we were spotting so many "possible" whale sightings that they were hanging around the area long enough for us all to get a good look. The boat was nice and wasn't too crowded. I would definately go back on this tour over and over!

Friendly staff and well run boat
Sat, Feb 28  1:00 PM miketu Male 30-39 Local Couple on a Date
We had a good time and I would recommend this trip. The staff on board are very friendly. The guide was very enthusiastic and clearly enjoys her job. We saw a lot of dolphins up close and some other assorted marine and aviary life. A few glimpses of grey whales from a distance, but the crew tried hard, it just wasn't our day I suppose. Mostly an older crowd on our trip; it was low key and not crowded. The boat is clean and in good condition. Its only 10 minutes from the St. Regis Monarch Beach Hotel where we stayed. I would go again. The staff at the check-in desk at the Dana Wharf store are less friendly. Parking in the Dana Wharf lot is also tight, so give yourself extra time to find a place to park.
