We had a great time whale watching

| We were able to see a mother and her calf as well as another whale breaching the water. It was spectacular. On the return trip to the marina, we found a pod of dophins that played in the boats wake and jumped in and out of the water. Being from Florida and having seen dolphins before, did not prepare us for the awesome experience.... | ||||||

| This was supposed to be the highlight of my California vacation. I had convinced the other members of my party that this was a "must do" and that we would see the things we'd viewed on the Nature channel with our very own eyes. I read so many positive reviews from people who had posted them just the week before, and was sure that we'd have a similar experience. I know that nature can be unpredictable, but all of the posts from the previous week insisted that we'd see hundreds of dolphins and I had no reason to think that we wouldn't have the same experience. The few negative posts I read were related to fishing, so I was sure we'd see plenty of dolphins and if we were lucky, a whale or two. We saw NOTHING!!!! We sailed for two hours and saw absolutely nothing! I was so totally disappointed. Their "no refund" policy guarantees that if you don't see dolphins or whales, you can sale again for free. I live in Maryland and probably won't be making this trip again, so it is little consolation and the guarantee is worthless. If you still choose to go, be aware that they cannot guarantee any sightings. Thankfully it didn't cost a lot. I'm just glad that we didn't purchase the four hour cruise. | ||||||

| The Guides were very nice and one offered to take pics of the whales because we kept missing them in the shot. All the guides were informative and would walk around and see if you had questions and would answer in detail. Will Defintly do again. All of them were very honest and we got to see a mom whale and her calf. Was completly worth it and absloutly loved the experience. Thanx you GUYS!!!!!!!!!! | ||||||

| I would definitely recommend this tour. The customer service was great, and the cruise itself was also great. We saw tons of dolphins which was amazing, and they were all over the place, however, we did not see any whales. I knew going into the cruise that there was no guarantee, but my only suggestion would be that if we don't get to see whales, they should offer a coupon for another tour (not free, just discounted). | ||||||

| Please let the owners of the Reel Fishing boat know how much we enjoyed the trip. We were very impressed with Zach and the rest of the crew. Their attitudes were great, they were very helpful, and made us feel like they were there to help with whatever our needs might be. I will come back. | ||||||

| We saw about 5 grey whales, 2 on their own and then two adults with a baby. It was a little choppy which made it more difficult to see them, but it was still neat. The crew told us they didn't see any whales on the group that went out before us, probably due to the not-as-nice conditions. I would advise you to pick a nice calm day to go out, the crew seemed to indicate they have better success on those days. Take binoculars if you have them. The boat cannot get super close to the whales. | ||||||

| Dolphins were very playful with us and the boat. I kept on the "lookout" for a migrating whale....and sure enough I saw it. Pretty far away but still exciting. | ||||||

| We went Whale watching on Tuesday, March 25 at 4:00p.m.. We were taken out to where we were surrounded by hundreds of dolphins. It was so much fun watching them all play and follow our boat. On the way back, our captain of the boat spotted some whales. He took us over to see them. To his surprise there were 6 of them. He followed them and took us as close as is legally allowed. Because we were the last trip of the day, he stayed out longer with us so that we could fully enjoy the whales. He made the trip so enjoyable. We would recommend this trip to anyone and we will be going again next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | ||||||

| Wednesday, March 25th, 4pm cruise Didn't look good when we left port last Wednesday...but we ran into a HUGE pod of common dolphins. There were several hundred of them. On our way back to port we saw six grey whales and the ship captain let us stay out later than our designated time so that everyone would have a good chance of getting a picture. THANKS Dana wharf whale watching crew!! | ||||||

| We had a great time! We brought sack lunches and sat at the tables on the top deck...thought we'd have a great view of the whales and dolphins, but the captain always kept the ship pointed at them, so we had to strain to see through the captain's windows. I'd recommend getting a spot in the front of the boat if you want the best views. I heard several people down there complain that they couldn't see over everyone else, so be sure to secure a spot on the railing. We saw 4 grey whales and a huge pod of dolphins. The captain was able to entice the dolphins to play, and they surfed in the ship's wake...sailing through the air, jumping and flopping on their sides. It was definitely the highlight of the afternoon! | ||||||

| I have lived in Orange County for more than two years, and I wish that I had done this before. My cousin and grandmother came to visit from out of state, and I booked the the tour/cruise for the three of us. The weather was beautiful, the view of Dana Point from the ocean looked like a painting, and the dolphins and whales did not disappoint. We saw 4-6 gray whales and a huge pod of common dolphins. The crew/staff were very friendly and knowledgable. Also, the cruise does not interfere with the animals travel patterns or harass nature just for a photo-op. | ||||||
