Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

We had such a good time on the Whale Watching Tour. We did not see any whales but we saw beautiful dolphins.

We were told to be there at 5:30 but the boat never took off until 6:30 we could have come later. Everything else was okay

We have done this activity every time we make it out to California. Very nice and informative and lucky enough to see a whale this time! Speaker was great, give the guy a raise! Very informative and appreciated all his knowledge!

The Captain worked at finding wild sea animals for us to watch, while at the same time, respecting their ocean domain.

The sun was out after several rainy days and the sky was so blue and we wanted a day out. The boat ride was beautiful and calming and even though we didn't see any whales or dolphins we still loved the outing. The fact that we can go again when ever we are ready is a bonus. It was amazing to be on the ocean and be able to see snow capped mountains, sail boats and all the ocean has to offer. It was just a beautiful day and even the kids were not disappointed.

We spent a nice afternoon following 4 whales!

Our family day out included my husband and I and our two boys ages 5 and 9 there was also my brother and sister-inlaw and their three kids ages 4,6 and 8. My husband's mum and dad were with us to who were visiting from Scotland, UK. My husband and I have always wanted to do Whale watching as it is my husband's favourite mammal. Although when we went out we never saw any whales but we saw pods and pods of dolphins who swam right by our boat, we quickly got the video camera out and took lots of photo's and video's. It was a beautiful sunny day, the sea water was calm it was a perfect afternoon with the family the kids were in their element and had a great time. Sharon Walton

We saw lots of dolphins and were told which kind they were and the routines of the dolphins. The boat was very clean and the crew very knowledgeable. Well worth the money..

Terrific experience. Saw 2 gray whales, a pack of sea lions, and even had a pod of dolphins swimming with our boat. The food on board was very good, and the prices weren't raised like you might expect. Make sure to pack some Dramamine, though, they don't have any available for purchase on board.

The cruise was a great. We saw a Blue whale and her calf, a Fin whale, and sea lions. The captain did a nice job of keeping the ship out of the glare while we watched the whales take thier breaths. I would suggest being on the upper deck the view might be better. However, highly enjoyable anywhere on the ship. If you are on the fence than get off it and go already, it is a great time. Id NEVER do that again. We stayed so close to the shore, that we couldn't get away from the pelicans, seals and dolphin. Needless to say, the only thing caught were the pelicans. It was quite sad too see all theses birds with hooks and lures stuck in their little pea brained heads. From now on, it's only full day boat fishing trips for me!

Great experience-saw more whales than could count: blue, fin and humpback whales and dolphins too. Crew was courteous, friendly and helpful.

The staff were friendly, but we only saw one whale, and barely even saw one at that, he was really hard to spot. Nonetheless, that fulfilled the guarantee of seeing a whale, so we didn't get another trip. I think they need to make the tours longer than two hours to give more time for looking for whales. Two hours is not long enough. My nieces and myself were very disappointed.
